External Frame and Internal Frame.
The packs mentioned in that post are mostly internal frame.
There are External framed backpacks availalbe in US. Their advantage is that
they can carry large load much easier than internal framed bags. Also, they
are much cheaper in price.

Remember, for Backpacking, you don't want to have a heavy load in your pack.
The fuel is not weight free. Most backpackers calculate how much fuel they
will need, and just add one small can for backup.
Cleaning the water with clothes may not work -- It can filter out the dirts,
but not the virues and worms inside of the water. That's the reason people
use pills/filters.

天开车去过一次，从此念念不忘。 说服了爬山伙伴小A，我们决定要into the wild。
本来没打算带小朋友， 无奈找不到合适的babysitter，再加上小朋友死乞白赖，苦苦

具体品牌型号可以看Backpacker
的年度推荐. REI的工作人员也会帮你挑.
一般day pack 男生背35的足够,MM可以选20-35的.如果overnight/ camping的话男生至
少买个75的吧,(因为男生
经常要帮MM背东西,呵呵).
如果是初次backpack,重要的装备如包,帐篷,睡垫,睡袋什么的可以先租或者借,因为所
有东西一次都买好实在投资巨大.
等你觉得喜欢这项运动,(得有点自虐倾向),对装备也有了选择,再慢慢等deal,淘
scratch & dent不迟.

But for me, I enjoy the backpacking itself more than the destination to
where we are backpacking to, so I think as long as we get a nice group, it's
up to you guys where to do backpacking.
BTW, I have my gears except for the stove. My previous experience didn't
include cooking as they were done in single weekends (no more than 2 nights).
How many people you think are in need for such a trip? Let's see if we can
make it... |

发帖数: 4232 | 20 开始真正尝试backpacking，一来就遇到气候变化有点狼狈，但是能学到不少东西，也
增加了不少的乐趣和友谊。总结一下和backpacking的新手或即将进入backpacking的朋
友们，特别是女同胞们共勉。
1. 背30lb+的包跟背10lb至15lb的包爬山还是有很大区别的，平时的dayhiking通常
是背10lb至15lb的包，觉得没什么，等背30lb+的包的时候觉得真的很重啊，每一步都
好累。主要是肩膀比较弱，所以如果重量能集中在下端会部来承受多的重量会觉得好些
。这在选包的时候也很重要，一定要加重量试背，觉得肩背舒服和重量压在髋骨部分为
好。据说也是根据体重的1/3或1/4来计算，所以大部分女生应该是能承受30lb至40lb的
重量，再重就有点受不了了。
2. 防雨的衣服一定要准备，而且随时放在背包容易取出的地方。山中气候说变就变
，特别是靠近高山的地方，我们这次的营地在Grays&Torreys背后的山谷里，到中午的
天气都是阳光明媚的，下午看到云飘过来就下起雨来，不，其实是冰雹加雨的下。我这
次带的防水外套也算是好的了，但雨一下大和在雨中待的时间较长也 |

多次（都是经常的，经常的），
但是backpacking才只是个初学者。。。。这个夏天，要多多backpacking，还想夏末秋
初的时候开始bike camping。。
我在LA北部。。。不直接在LA。不过如果LA哪里有好玩的户外活动，时间又对得上的话
，肯定要凑个热闹啦。。。
你推荐的那个路线，我问了，现在水位很高，不适合去，还有桥之后那段地方，据说
poison oaks太多了，不方便

周末去了一趟frazier park里的一个boy scout campground。beginner backpacking。
3.5mile单程吧，只有1000 feet gain。不过那里海拔稍微高点，好像是6400 feet，结
果吹的风又大又冷，就临时决定吃了午餐后退回山下的瀑布旁的小平地上露营，不然山
上风太大，还没发篝火，露营没有篝火，还是露营吗？
晚上山上的话，可能估计都要到30一下。在小山谷里，估计30多点。我新买的睡袋,
REI MOJAVE +10 在这种情况下当然没问题。倒是我自己缝了liner，觉得还是应该买现
成了，起码网上买的应该比自己用旧床单缝的要轻吧。。。不过时间紧急，凑合就是了
。
我背的包有30磅重，好像也没带什么。就是第一次backpacking，很多东西都不是朝着
轻的方 |

发帖数: 1074 | 25 上周末去了一次三天的backpacking coyote gulch. 先在escalante visitor center领
了permit, 然后开车到40 miles ridge， 从那进去。Hike大概3个mile左右的slick
rock吧，到"the crack"一个狭小的岩石缝。其实就是峭壁，有此一缝便可下去。我们
把backpack 用webbing lower下去。此处景色开始显现coyote gulch的特征，红岩环绕
，steven's arch还有escalante river，简直一个微缩的moab。
第一晚在附近的小河边camping.第二天早上pump了一点水。这里的水都是浑浊的，所以
一定要用pump，光uv肯定不行的，除非是spring出来的水，第二天我们就赶上一个在
jacob’s arch那一带，否则都有沙。第二天一早，我们回去hike了一下steven's arch
， 从谷底跨河，往上沿着rim 一直走到arch. 感觉蛮好，整个arch浑然天成，微风吹过，放眼望去，万里河山尽收眼底。

是排汗的衣服，其它都可以借到。当然，我穿普通的棉质衣服也backpacking过，不舒
服就是了，一般情况下也能凑合。
backpacking要求真没那么高，白菜的list是备忘的目的，不是拿来当门槛的。 |

我们有7天时间，还要留些时间从seattle到公园往返。
1。从seattle有shuttle去这个公园么？因为我们全程backpacking，租车挺不划算的。
2。如果走wonderland，7天时间如何安排呢？计划每天走8－10mi，走完整个loop是不
可能了，从中间节选的话就要考虑回头取车的问题。不知道从sunrize逆时针 走到
paradize是否合适？两点之间有shuttle么？
3。最关心的，现在申请wonderland permit还有可能吗？
4。如果wonderland的permit拿不到，去哪条backpacking trail好呢？

Not a running backpack, but one that can also hold
a few items such as a small SLR a battery pack and
a sweater. My situation is that I often combine
a morning race and a sightseeing day in a city that
I have no car and no friends.

波士顿的backpackers，有朋友来波士顿，千万不要让朋友去住这个旅馆。如果你预
先在网上定了这个旅馆，你要小心了，因为你的信用卡号他们已经知道了。你就不知道
你会被扣多少钱了。下面讲讲我的经历。
我12月初去波士顿玩，波士顿的酒店都很贵，所以就在hotelz上找到了这个
backpackers hotel。30美金一个床位，我就订了一天。但是由于飞机的原因，我错过
了check in时间。订单上明明写的即使预定很多天，没有提前cancel的话也只扣第一天
的钱。我就订了一天最多也就扣30块钱，结果他们扣了我90。我原本想多扣钱什么的可
能是疏忽造成的，后来证明我是错的，这个hotel就是个黑店，他们绝对是故意的。我
给他们第一次打电话，他们说多扣的钱会在2006年12月底退到我卡上，结果到 |

00 best price I've seen for a few months for this versatile camera / laptop
backpack. The best price in the past year was right after thanksgiving for
$55 and i missed that deal so ive been monitoring it for a while now. Its
been pretty solid at about $80 for the past 3 months. I gotta pull the
trigger. Hope this helps anyone looking for a camera/laptop backpack. Free
