南加恶俗糖水风光男2人组本年度第四次采花活动（第一次garden，第二次扑空，第三
次leo carrillo，第四次joshua tree NP）
最近有以sanny为首的探马频频从LA出动，经打探清楚，joshua tree已经遍地鲜花（呈
明显而规则的斑秃状分布，其间点缀荒土细沙）。因为此行路途遥远，（～120miles）
，恶糖男们决定3am施展僵尸功爬被窝。结果到了前一夜晚间，一个做实验做到1am，一
个1am还在bbs上开展猜谜活动。。。
最后经默契，司机师傅依然获得2hr睡眠，而野外生存顾问（准备了头灯，热水，并且
随时预备用肉体饲喂响尾蛇，大灰狼或者黑山老妖，以保全司机的性命）则采取继续油
尽灯枯，死活不睡，期望通过分泌毒素降低肉质，争取倒掉上述猎食者胃口。

去年夏天，在Anza-Borrego沙漠，对着满天繁星，我许下了这个心愿；于是，在除夕前的那个夜晚，那个新月的前夜，我去了Joshua Tree国家公园。那里有一个星星爬梯。
出发时，天边翻滚着黑云，雨点不时打在车窗上。天气预报说Joshua Tree有百分之五十的云层覆盖，我晕！一个月前做的准备，一切就绪，然后天天看气象，天天晴空万里。可是的可是啊，临出发前一周，一切按墨菲定律发生了 —— 风云突变。我决定挑战那个该死的定律，按既定方针办。
随着逼近Joshua Tree，云居然渐渐散去，到公园时，晴空万里，一碧如洗！先找宿营地，搭好帐蓬，再去公园各角落视察，最后去爬梯。到达爬梯现场时，天已近黑。停车场里人不多，但已经有一些望远镜支了起来。其中有一架大约二十吋的Dobsonian引起了我的注意，Dobsonian边上站着两位高人正在高谈阔论，我猜其中一位应该是Ric。我径直走了过去。

“嗨，你们好，我是psn，...”，我还没说完，其中一位就对着远处一位矮个老者高喊起来，“嗨，Sam！psn来了"！

外墙前先trim树吗？还是可以先粉刷外墙，再修剪pine trees或让它们去不断长高. 有
点担心trim树会否刮到落地窗（去年新换的，$1800/扇）或弄脏外墙。

各自的fine motor练习。我家老大从小食指非常不灵活，基本不会用。老师给他安排每
天早上一到就练习纽扣什么的，很快食指就有了进步。
不好的地方是，1.他们教室没窗户；2.室外比较小，基本就是玩沙子；3.我儿子反应老
师有时会把小孩放到一个封闭小房间里timeout。
academic和culture class比例我们觉得还可以。academic上来说，比纽约的红苹果还
是少多了。我家儿子特别喜欢little tree的泥人课，不知道现在还有没有。
总得来说我家小孩还是挺喜欢little tree的。

另一棵高约15ft。都是成熟健康的Palm tree。不需要怎么打理。专门去买这么高的

周末两日走马观花Joshua Tree NP及周边地带，途经热情沙漠，苍茫弋壁，寂寞盐湖和
青山翠谷，最后在漫天红霞中尽兴而归，一路饱享了春光和风沙。
非常感谢三妮的野花地图，令我们不虚此行。

发帖数: 190 | 17 这周二玩了jushua tree natinal park，出发前通过google它的照片，原以为就是沙漠
中长了一些像仙人掌的jushua tree.可是到了后发现和想象中的完全不一样，首先这个
时节去很好，不冷不热的，景色和夏天基本差不多，都是大漠风光。其次公园挺大，有
两个入口，north 和south,光开车什么都不玩从north 到south也得一个小时。然后不
光是jushua tree,还有很多的小石头山和高山比如ryan mountain.小石头山很精巧，可
以进行rock climbing,喜欢爬山的我找到了儿时爬山的感觉。这些小石头山让我想到了
utah那几个公园，比如arches np,和 capitol reef np.只是规模没有那么大。 ryan
mountain trail 来回大概两个半小时，难度不大，冬天去到了山顶(1000多米）很冷。
山顶上风光不错，最重要的是我们很享受爬山的过程。还有好几个景点如hidden
valley,没来的及去，因为4点天就快黑了。这验证了我的一个观点，绝大多数国家公园
都值得，也应该至少花两个整天的时间去全面浏览，最好是... 阅读全帖 |

礼拜天清早从Baker, CA出发，玩Mojave National Preserve 的主要景点，hike 2~3主
要的trail，晚上6点之前赶到Las Vegas 机场。
Joshua Tree 半天是不是太短？
另外，哪里可以看到 Mojave National Preserve 的攻略，比较少看到大家提及。

maybe I'm naive, but once you exercize the option, some branches of the
tree will be truncated. the reason you can get a beautiful solution
on european options is the symmetrics of the tree. I don't know, and
I doubt if that beauty can be preserved if the tree is truncated.
maybe I should dig out my copy of Hull's book (which I remember
as most dealing with continuous time).
I still think the difficulty is mutual excusivity of cash flow
from the bond and exercising of the option. this problem i |

所以我在找啥package的tree algorithm可以允许自定义split criteria
sas的 proc tree和proc arboretum 是不行的
我看了一下R的tree function，也不行
当然我可以试着改写R的function，不过我完全不懂R
不知道从头学R,改一部分code的效率高，
还是自己写个完整的关于CART的sas macro的效率高...
如果有现成的CART的sas macro就好了，
我只需要改split criteria那部分就行 |

I am testing 'rpart' package on a 64-bit-Linux + 64-bit-R environment. But
it seems that rpart is either not stable or running out of memory very
quickly. (Is it because R is passing everything as copy instead of as object
reference?)

报错：
Error in rpart(X ~ . - A - B, data = dataset) :
NAs are not allowed in subscripted assignments
但是A和B变量里没有发现NA。
如果先运行
dataset$A=NULL
dataset$B=NULL
然后再运行
tree=rpart(X~. , data=dataset)
就不报错了。
这个是什么情况？ |
