PRELUDE
本来最近是打算买新车.我是一个车盲，要不是in the market,根本不会上车版.我基本
上一开始就定了买Volvo. 不解释。我对新车要求很低， 每天commute， 周末买菜.偶
尔带老婆出去逛逛.不太跌份就行.每天的commute~70迈， local/highway mix.想过买
XC60， 最后还是settle for sedan. Therefore S60 it is. 同事强烈建议买BWM三系
或是Lexus.没动心.也没去dealer那儿试车.
BEGINNING
话说突然旧车就歇菜了.搞得有点措手不及.上周二晚上先上truecar.com, Edmunds.com
把想要的style, color, option定了。决定要T5 AWD Premier with Climate Package,
17" NJord Wheels and BLIS.然后上Costco网站, 找了8-9家dealer要price quote.
Costco网页上让填zip, 一般就显示附近3-4家dealers.我用google map search了一下
周围的Volvo dealer, 然后用yelp/google review看了一下， 把reputation好点的
dealer的zip抄下来再到Costco 网站上用dealer的
zip去search, 这些名声好点的dealer其实都在Costco的network里.Price quote
request发出后很快收到一堆automatic response.然后看到了Zhuimeng1314 ( 追梦一

心里先有了个顶线。For good measures, 还是向几家Lexus dealers要了ES300h的
quote.

NEGOTIATION
周三一大早就收到一堆回邮.十点钟以后电话开始响个不停. Lexus dealer都拽得很，
张嘴就是Lexus the car sells itself或是Volvo is a premium car but THE Lexus
is a luxury car (在电话里得知我另外在考虑Volvo之后). Whatever.
我的一个既定的方针就是除非我拿到dealer E-mail给我的detailed quote我决不去他
们的showroom.一半左右的dealer在电话里说what is the best price you got? we
will beat any written offer by $1,000! Just came in and take a quick look!我
就会在电话里重复一遍我要的style, color, options然后让他们给我发quote.不给E-
mail的我坚决不理。
有些dealership简直超级搞笑.打电话过来说Costco Auto Program的价格是pre-
negotiated, 就是Invoice价, 然后2013款再减去$750 然后减去$1000loyalty或$500
Conquest和$1000 long term financing incentive.有三个sales rep告诉我"you don'
t understand how Costco Auto Program works"我回答"Whatever, I can tell you
someone also in the Costco network is giving me very competitive price, it's
up to you we have a deal or not".结果最后成交的dealership就是其中一个先是牛
哄哄的教育了我一番的家伙回头打回来了。
然后周三下午收到一个不错的quote. White S60 T5 AWD with the black interior,
Premier model with the climate package, BLIS and 17" Njord wheels, MSRP $38,
645, sale price $32,140 OTD $35,133 with outright purchase (which means I
should be able to get another $1000 off with long term financing).有点搞笑的
是我后来和其他的dealer讲价都是基于这个价格, 但最早给我这个quote的sales一直没
再理我！让我比较犹豫的是白车黑座,老婆不喜.我在这家dealer网站上check
inventory找了辆蓝色的S60 T5AWD Premier发link回去给sales问报价,没有回音.
