SRM System Test – Sr. MTS Engineer - This is a Senior level QE opportunity
working on exciting new products in the Storage Business Unit fulfilling the
vision of Software Defined Storage (SDS). In this role you will be
responsible for analyzing the PRD, FS requirements, gathering a deep
understanding of product design, develop test strategies/test plans and
execute. This role also requires in-depth technical knowledge in storage and
will be working closely with VMware’s strategic storage ecosystem partners
to deliver as highest quality of vSphere as an SDS Platform.
Responsibilities:
• Lead projects across the System Test organization, which involves co
-coordination with cross functional teams and working closely with
development
• Excellent project management/tracking skills
• Lead/Mentor the team in 'best practices' w.r.t testing frameworks,
test methodologies and customer scenarios
• Work in a QE team to accomplish end-to-end use case based system
test planning, execution and automation of vCenter Site Recovery Manager &
vSphere product suite.
•Study end to end customer workflow and design use cases that ensure
product interoperability & compatibility
•Develop, execute and automate the test steps, test criteria to
accomplish the verification
• Test design, implementation, execution, debugging and automation
using Java along with Windows and Linux system administration
• Track bugs related to the group and escalate bugs to engineering as
needed
• Test execution metrics and status reporting
Requirements:
• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent
• Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
• 3+ Experience testing and releasing enterprise level software
products
• 2+ years of experience in storage technologies involving SAN or NAS
• Proficiency in Java or C or C++
• Experience in Perl/python
• Broad technical knowledge to include -
- Operating system fundamentals (Linux, Windows)
- Systems administration (install, configure, manage)
- Storage array administration (would be a plus)
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Must have excellent communication and organization skills
Self-motivated, be able to work independently and fast learner
Experience with VMware virtualization or other equivalent products would be
a big plus
Experience with EMC storage such as VPLEX is highly desirable | z*********8
