its Seattle office in September 2014, aiming at developing cutting-edge
technologies in big data, machine learning, and distributed systems. Alibaba
is hiring Seattle-based software engineers to help build fast-growing
mobile search engine to power up Alibaba's smart devices such as YunOS

Responsibilities
- Develop distributed search pipeline end-to-end by applying Alibaba's
engine technologies to build indexes and serve queries;
- Build real-time and personalized data collection and analysis pipeline to
help improve product's relevance and revenue;
- Work with algorithm engineers to create ranking modules by using machine
learning and distributed computing techniques;
- Design and implement interfaces and APIs to provide search services to
partner teams.
Minimum qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field;
- Strong coding skills with one or more programming languages including C
and C++;
- Passions for developing large-scale distributed backend systems;
- Good knowledge of data structures and algorithms, OOP, performance tuning
& optimization;
- Self-motivated, innovative and collaborative, with good communication
skills;
- Fluent in Chinese speaking and writing.
Preferred qualifications
- MS or PhD degree in computer systems, distributed computing, or related
technical field;
- Working knowledge of data mining and analysis, and machine learning;
- Experience with Linux system tools and shell programming;
- Experience with search engine indexing and ranking systems or similar. | o******h
