looking for a basement expert.
One one thing you might want to try by yourself. If you are sure the water
seep in from the seam between fireplace and floor, you can epoxy it. But
usually, the hydrostatic pressure is too huge for epoxy to hold the position. |

如果烟囱本身没有漏水，那有可能的是烟囱顶没有盖子，雨雪飘进来了。还有可能的是
锅炉的热气在烟囱壁上凝结的水，这个问题一般是烟囱的排气管不合适。找专门维修烟
囱的查一下。我们这个一共花了＄１２００。 |

我查了一下，是壁炉下面通到地下室的那个煤灰坑积水，然后从墙往里渗。
那个煤灰坑的入口只够伸手掏煤灰的，没法进去查哪里渗进来的水。如果是地基渗进来
的，只有找专家了。

if your problem only shows recently when the temperature goes up.
The chimney cap is only good for keeping out the rain and snow. If you didn'
t use your fireplace in the winter, the ice might still build up in your
chimney. So what you see is simply ice melt : ) Just sponge it up.
