this Mold history affect the resale, even after mold termination?
Out Home Inspector found "mold like substance on the sheating in the attic ,
likely because Exhaust fans vented into attic instead of vent to outside
through an approved roof vent, and caused excessive moisture/condensation in
the attic". Inspector said he will NOT give up this house personally, and
recommend to Consult a qualified mold remediation contractor and consulting
a qualified contractor to provide balance ventilation system to promote
efficiency and reduce moisture/condensation related damages.
Seller said he will consider these, but has not say whether he will pay for
the full cost.
Really a headache!

发帖数: 20683 | 2 看多严重。如果是墙的表面有黑黑的霉点，用bleach一擦就没了的那种，我可以接受。
我家洗衣房前房主搬走后龙头没关紧，一面墙上有一块发霉了，我们只好把那块墙挖掉
一部分换新的。买了以后才发现，幸好就一小块，换完我没concern了，如果买前发现
，不知道多严重的话，我肯定就纠结了。

removal company, 要价很贵不说，还没有warranty，以后也许还会长，还得再清。

1. fix root cause, leakage,infiltration, etc
2. remove or treat all contaminated materials
3. keep air dry |

根据our home inspector，好像是因为卫生间的通风口没有直接伸到房子外面，attic
里长期潮湿造成Mold.应该可以除根，
但我还是担心 mold spore已经跑到通风管道系统，
还有home insurance会不会 increase，
House resale很麻烦？想着3-5年后就卖掉this house的. |

发帖数: 14763 | 11 Mold sheathing is fine, if attic is not finished. Not to mention you already
got the root cause and will get that fixed,
Mold only go for warm and humid places. |

Seller has the mold remediation done and will pay to have the bathroom vent
extend out of roof. But Seller refuse to lower his sale price, which is a
fair price ( before the mold problem detected).
Seller also said it is common to have this kind of Mold problem in houses at
Upper Arlington, Ohio.
Anyone lives or know about Upper Arlington area want to share some thoughts
?
we know most houses at Upper Arlington are very old, built before 1970s. We
like the location and floor plan.
If it is true that this kind of Mold problem is common at Upper Arlington,
how badly will a history of Mold problem affect the house resale value? We
plan to sell it in 3-5 yrs.
