One of the world’s top high school swimmers has made her college decision.
Bethesda native Katie Ledecky, an Olympic Gold Medalist and four-time World
Champion swimmer, has announced her verbal commitment to swim for Stanford
University when she graduates from high school.
Ledecky, a junior at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, is scheduled to
graduate from the Bethesda private school next year.
“I am thrilled to announce that upon completion of my high school education
, I am committed to pursue my college education at Stanford and very much
look forward to the opportunity to swim for the Stanford Cardinal women’s
team in NCAA competition,” Ledecky said in a statement on the school’s
website. “I am very excited about the educational opportunities that will
be available to me at Stanford and to swim for its great NCAA program under
the leadership of Coach Greg Meehan and Assistant Coach Tracy Duchac.”
Ledecky is an eight-time National Champion and holder of five American
records. She has also been a leader on Stone Ridge’s high school swim team
as a three-time varsity letter winner coached by Bob Walker. The teenager is
a ten-time National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) High
School All-American and holds the overall National High School Records in
the 200 Yard and 500 Yard freestyle events, and was a member of the 2012-
2013 Stone Ridge team that captured the Independent School League
championship with an undefeated league season.
“Katie’s success as a swimmer and a student are truly exceptional and
provides us all with great inspiration,” said Head of School at Stone Ridge
Catherine Ronan Karrels. “She has made tremendous contributions at Stone
Ridge with her talents, strong faith, self-discipline, courage, and
confidence. Katie will surely thrive at Stanford and in her future pursuits.

ledecky如果想在中短距离有突破的话，也应该去南加州才对

这几个女娃都想先scholarship上个好大学，上一半到奥运前转pro，两者兼顾。

Along with team championships, Salo coached five swimmers - Amanda Beard,
Aaron Peirsol, Jason Lezak, Gabrielle Rose, and Staciana Stitts - that
represented the USA at the 2000 Olympic Games, winning five medals.
In 2004, Salo coached Jason Lezak, Colleen Lanne', Gabe Woodward and Lenny
Krayzelburg to the USA Olympic Team. He also served as Assistant Coach for
the USA's men's team.
In 2012, Salo coached Jessica Hardy, Rebecca Soni, Ricky Berens, Eric
Shanteau, and Haley Anderson to the USA Olympic Team, along with Katinka
Hosszú to the Hungarian Team and Oussama Mellouli to the Tunisia Team. He
was one of the assistant coaches.
Salo has also served as assistant coach for the USA Women's team in the 1999
Pan American Games as well as the 2000 Olympic Games and headed the Men's
Team at the Goodwill Games in 2001 and the 2005 World Championship Team.
Salo is a graduate of Long Beach State (B.A. and M.A.) and the University of
Southern California (Ph.D.)[2]

游泳得进奥运队才能真正职业，上次d导贴的世界前16名能从游泳协会领每月3000刀，
这级别的天赋练一阵就能看出来了，没有还是好好学习吧。

脑子实在笨，否则干什么都比游泳赚钱。

游泳相对便宜，但给小孩长年累月练投入也很可观。
