看到大家讨论小留，自己也是， 所以以我的经历科普一下。
一般的高中留学生是通过交换项目来的（公立，私立都有）。 一般是为期一年（11年
级）。 属于j-1visa。（也有F-1的例子）。 在一年后有的可以延期一年（12年级）。
如果学生考了sat，或act被大学录取，就可以在下一年进入大学学习。
花费， 私立的我不知道
公立的高中是全免费的（只要你在学区内居住）。 中午有免费的午餐（低收入家庭）
，一般的小留学生都够格。 交换项目很多有host family。 一般愿意作host的家景
都不错，人也比较热心。 所以小留学生在美国上高中不许要太多的钱。 当然，我也
见过开宝马， 天天下馆子， 从host family 搬出来自己住的主。谁让人家钱多。不过
一般是生意人的子弟。 官员的子弟一般是比较低调的。 （越大官的越低调）。

I am in my second Master's program now, supposing to graduate next May.
Since I used OPT after my first Master's degree, no OPT anymore for me now.
I was just wondering if a company is willing to apply H-1B for me now, but
the application is denied, am I legally to stay in the US continuing using
my F-1visa, which is valid until next May too?

发帖数: 3 | 16 我现在博士在读,刚刚拿到一个OFFER.我以前在美国拿了MASTER但是从没有用过OPT/CPT.
问了INTERNATION STUDENT OFFICE说可以申请OPT.但是由于想到以后还有可能再读一个
MASTER,所以想现在直接办H1-B不用OPT. 但是又一想,若是工作两年在读书的话就是另外
的一个F-1VISA了.那是不是一切从来,不论以前有没有用光OPT,都可以再申请OPT呢?
如果是这样一来,那我现在就可以直接申请OPT 了!

fired and asked to go the same day.
I went with him to see a lawyer, and was told to find a job and file a
transfer within 30 days. As soon as the transfer is filed, whether it's
approved or not, he (and you of course) could go to work the same day. So
go and find a job quickly. What do you do and where are you? |

发帖数: 3 | 25 今天早上8点到San Jose的Mexican Consulate的时候，已经有很多老墨，我还以为要久等
，结果门卫直接告诉我去专门办visa的窗口，只有我和一个老印。问我的visa and
status, 回答F-1visa 和 H1 status, 没怀疑，然后说是tourism, driving down to
Mexico City. 她有点惊讶，可能是为我在墨西哥境内开车的勇气或无知所折服:) 但是还
是让我填了两张表。值得注意的是，表上有个问题问我有没有US visa, 我只好填没有。
我担心的就是这一点，我是去年2月份由 F1 转的 H1 status，转之后还没有回国。按规
定，我这样的情况要FM3, 需要3到4周时间，130多美元。我看到这个版上之前有个人说，
她就直接说她是学生，人家也没说什么，就给了Tourist Visa. 所以，后来我能只花35块
，今天下午3点拿到Tourist Visa. 我想，这一来是那个女签证官年轻，没有什么经验的
样子，还有，我一来就说我是F1签证可能也有帮助。

请问这种情况可不可以要求教授在DS2019 form有关我在美国和法滞留的时间填两年或

如果教授按我的想法办了,明年如果因为没有申请到funding或者其他原因,没有给我的

大家好，由于之前鸡贼害怕J1豁免后不能回国，拖着开始准备O签证时，才开始豁免，
谁知道弄出了个万年脏啊!!
考古了板上许多境外激活的案例，还不是很明白是否可以去加拿大激活，律师电话周末
也没人接，没有结果，辗转反侧，先问下大家的意见和看法，谢谢啦。
背景：目前，2016年6月24日， J－1 签证，2019 有效至2017年3月，J－1Visa 过期，
正在进行豁免，NOL应该7月末8月初由大使馆发出，O－1签证材料准备好，8月初可有公
司律师递交。
问题：
1. 我的O－1签证需要激活？
通过考古及移民局网页确定，我需要境外激活签证，也就是我需要用O签证登陆美国一
次，使之有效。
不知道我的理解是否正确？
2. 可否去加拿大进行激活？
