（Heaven）
译作“天”的希伯来语词sha·maʹyim（沙马因，大多以复数形式出现）的基本含
义看来是极高或崇高的事物。（诗103：11；箴25：3；赛55：9）译作“天”的希腊语
词ou·ra·nosʹ（乌拉诺斯）的词源不详。
实际的天 在原语里，“天”这个词所涵盖的范围很广。要知道在不同的经文里“天”
指的是哪个范围，往往可以根据上下文来判断。
大气层以内的范围 “天”可指大气层覆盖的整个范围。在这个空间内，有露水冰霜（
创27：28；伯38：29），有雀鸟飞翔（申4：17；箴30：19；太6：26），有大风刮起（
诗78：26），有闪电划过（路17：24），有云彩飘浮，有雨雪冰雹降下（书10：11；王
上18：45；赛55：10；徒14：17）。“天”有时也指“天空”，即地球上空的圆拱形天
幕。（太16：1-3；徒1：10，11）
这个“天”大致上就是创世记1：6-8描述的，在第二个创造时期出现的“天空［希伯来
