1.德州的外语教师证(LOTE)是否就用actfl考核了？
2.actfl考试的申请人,必须已经是老师,或者在teacher preparation program里面。像
我这种目前没有参加任何program的，考了也没用，或者根本不让我参加，因为我没有
任何premission? |

first thing is you have to have a A license of any subject area, then add
Chinese as the second teaching area.
ACTFL is called American Council of Teaching Foreign Language. Click the

那个帖子的时候，刚考完Praxis I。我记得那时候还刚进入Program 没多久，系里的要
求是必须通过Praxis I ，否则不能student teaching. 想不到，一眨眼的功夫，我也
毕业两年半，工作近两年了。我记得我给版竹承诺过，有空写写我找工作的经历。这不

话说当年我学的是Mathematics Education, specialized in high school math.
Student teaching 也是教了Geometry and AFM(Advanced Function Modeling，相当于
Algebra III)。我还不算太艰难地通过了student teaching, 并以全年级the highest
rank 毕业。想想那两年的辛苦，真的是只有自己知道。我是2008 年十二月份毕业。当

本人正在读小学教育，之前以为读完了可以直接教中文，但是后来发现不一定，所以请
问大家：
1. 是否需要再修课拿chinese certification
2. 还是只要take test就行了，是praxis2还是actfl? actfl是要成为会员吗？请考过
的同学朋友联系我！
我期末考完试也会去department of education看看的，但是希望有经验的朋友们给我
些建议,不要直接让我去state上查。。

我想问 有关Teaching Chinese的教师执照的问题
我在犹豫要不要申请这个。
背景资料：我已经有了一个 Initial Teacher Certification in Math 7-12.
按照纽约州的要求我只要30个中文学分和一个纽约州的NYSTCE的 Mandarin的CST的考试
就可以申请到这个Teaching Chinese的执照了。
问题是我本科的学位不是中文，所以不够30个学分。
正好有这么一个考试 American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (
ACTFL) Examination in Lieu of Content Core

以前是说只能给24个学分，现在 11/29/2011 刚刚更新的 可以给30个学分了，

I talked with the program coordinator and a senior faculty at the ESL
department today. They gave me very good advice though they only have fall
admission. So I have to wait for another year to get enrolled. I have two
questions:
1.Has anyone ever taken the Oral Proficiency Interview(OPI) in English by
ACTFL before?
2.If so, can anyone give some good advice about the OPI exam |

有兴趣的同学可以申请。背景最好能符合德州教师资格标准：有本科学位，ACTFL口语
和笔试考试通过，教育培训课时足够。或者中文教育专业学士学位。
