means a big cost (sub-contract to your future university, fund you and your
future students,etc.).
It's normal your current adviser won't want you be involved due to budget
concern. Of course, some good adviser who really wants to help their student
to get funding by involving the student in a joint proposal. If one of your
adviser does that, consider yourself very lucky! |

cannot even convince your adviser, how can you expect to convince the
reviewer.
I think you adviser may has a point somewhere, he may suspect there is some
"leaking" of mass somewhere in your modeling process based on your other
results. Actually I may even ask you to check the energy balance too if your
results sounds suspicious to me.

年就过期的版本。在右上角有一个小小的时间。这张表是ISO领的。第一次我填完让一

都没有帮我查出来这个问题。我很奇怪其他人难道都没有从ISO拿表格，我还以为这是

天花乱坠，觉得真是不错，LP在BBS上查了下，说很多人都说不好，被我骂，那些人都
是LOSER.那个adviser说自己买了两个呢。感觉要骗得就是我这样的。
因为一直很忙，又很信任那个adviser，就一直没管，前几天看到一个statement来了，
一看，吓死。每月别他们直接划拉走的钱：insurance: $18, admin: $70, sales: $18
, 另外一个什么cost: $17.不算insurance, 没投资前就被拿走21%.这年头有什么投资
能超过21%呀，就算超过了，也就刚保本，没growth,谈什么tax shelter. 而且以后费
用还会涨呢。这半年大家都知道怎么回事情，方正我们的这点钱回报是-20%，哈，成
2001年玩股票那会了。
总而言之，现在帐号里就剩$2100，要割肉要$2300.算下来亏了：6*500 + （2300-2100
）=3200。这里先赞LP一下，不和我计较以前的事情，说就当炒股亏了，买个教训。就

student也许会在这个课题上有什么自己的ideas，让我跟他一起完成这个课题，并且让我
advise那个新来的graduate student.
我有两点疑虑：
一、原来的设想是安排个人做做实验工作就结了，我肯定是第一作者；虽然我并不介意别
人拿出ideas来拓展这个工作，但如何确保我做为第一作者的地位不受影响？所有课题从
选题到目前为止全部由我独自完成。

我的情况：1／x RD，我和律师都没收到我的notice，但是都收到LD的了
结果今天逼着律师打电话，uscis撒谎说同时寄出的，并且他们也没收到退件。恶心死
了。
最后的结局是，因为我的appointment太近，他们给我发传真。

萤火虫：
大烟山萤火虫event是一大特色，每年大概在5月底6月初，peak是两周，event一般
是一周时间。和别处的萤火虫不同之处在于这里的萤火虫不光多，还可以Synchronize
，也就是说萤火虫们可以同时灭灯，亮灯，科学家们对这个现象至今还没有很好的解释
。萤火虫亮灯是交配季节，雄性萤火虫一边飞一边向静止的雌性萤火虫发出信号，然后
此处省略一万字。synchronize不知道是不是有一点要公平竞争的意思。萤火虫卵被产

VUL。公司好像叫Ameriprise, AMEX旗下的，在OC最好的地界有个楼，不容得你不信呢
。我那时候挺认真，又有时间，把厚厚的一大本资料全读了一遍. 然后算题，VUL vs.
自己买term life + 买基金投资。收益率用同样假设，收益交税，compound什么的全算
了一遍，结论是自己买保险加投资回报更高。把这结果拿去和financial adviser讨论
，他们都惊了。我是很诚恳地想探讨一下为什么会有这样的结论是不是我哪里没有考虑
到。探讨了一个多钟头我突然意识到，那么复杂的算法他们无法follow，看不明白。然
后就没有然后了。
第二年amex被集体诉讼了，因为他们用financial adviser推VUL。

to avoid contact with the Missouri River.
The health department issued a health advisory Tuesday for all portions of
