I am looking for a male student to share a room with me during AEA/AFA
meeting, January 3-6 New Orleans, LA.
I have booked a double room at the rate of $105 per night (TAX exclude) in
the Hotel New Orleans, which is 0.5 mile away from the main conference hotel
. I will check in on Jan. 3 and check out in the early morning, |

打算1月份到AEA现场看看。主要是两方面：1.是想了解一下找工作的程序。2.如果能够
有一些面试，希望可以从interviewee的方面得到一些消息，在下面的一年中好好准备
自己。
所以，想请教版上前辈——
1. 像我这样的情况，没有confernece paper要present, 也不是目标明确地要找工作，
花时间和费用去AEA有意义么？
2. 另外，我现在也算是ABD了吧，能够开始找工作了么？现在再联系JOE上的工作完么
？那些工作，是投了简历就有面试么？
3. 我的目标是明年找一个好的matching的教职。那么，我能够今年投最好的最
competitive的工作，就是为了练习一圈面试？这样是否合理呢？

Following a three-year study and discussion of the subject, the Ad Hoc
Committee on Journals (Robert Hall [chair], Judith Chevalier, David Colander
, Peter Diamond, Alan Krueger, and Daniel Rubinfeld) recommended to the
Executive Committee in April 2006 that the Association start four aggregated
field journals, each published in four issues per year. Each new journal
will publish articles in a group of subfields with loose boundaries. The new

是只有waiting list了，最后只能分成两段，订了两家不同的hotel。
显然，今年的工作，demand明显减少，可是supply有增无减。 |

模板中的表格形式很不好，比如表格只能象正文一样，占据半版，表格太宽时就会出右
边界。还有无法象excel那样划表格边框。

the convention ratees (either due to cancelations or that they end up having
more rooms). But you need to register for the meeting first.
If you are not sure, you can call AEA to confirm with them, and then
register for the meeting only if they still have hotel rooms available. The
deadline has past so the registration fee is not refundable. |

一个女副校长讲话，一堆假大空的官话，底下听的人也乱糟糟的。虽然我也觉得她讲话
挺没劲的，但我还是希望大家能有点起码的素质和对人的尊重。人大还来了几个莫名其
妙的人，其中一个中年妇女的尤为扎眼，厚眼睛，披肩发，马靴，背包，不知道到底是
干什么的。貌似还听到他们有个什么处长说，人家办一个RECEPTION，我们就办两个，
不是显得重视么。貌似他们就是来跟上面教任务的，不是来招人的。
呆了一会，去了上财的。刚一进去，就被镇住了。田国强院长在前面讲话，底下的人站
成2排，鸦雀无声。我因为来的晚，只听到了两句。但也感觉字字句句都让人感觉上财
是真正来招人的，说的都是关于海龟concern的问题。中间还和别的院长聊了几句，感
觉都还不错，挺平易近人的。就是名字记不住了。觉得这是个GROWING SCHOOL. 他们说
关于海龟的制度都很透明，不会有什么猫腻。
长江的没去，记错时间了。高金也没去，他们是星期四的。我星期五才到的。但听说也
没什么人讲话。
转天先去的交大，
没有正式人讲话，但是经济学院的院长和几个老师来了，说了说话。他们经济金融都招

去学校里的研究所)
