美军打仗高度依赖制空权，制空权的基础是就近的空军基地，而基地却是稀缺资源。
一方面冷战后美军全球海外基地的快速缩水，下图是2005年反恐战争时美军全球使用的
机场示意图，而其中绿色的才是美军平时拥有的常备机场，大部分蓝色和棕色其实都是
临时获得；
二来数量有限的常备海外空军基地，战时一般都会遭到对手的“重点照顾”，生存能力

遍及全球的“裸机场”

本人要四月分入住。Google上搜到附近有很多apartments
，比如 Shadows Apartments, Oakwood Mountain View, Tamarind Square，
Kensington Place Apartments，Summerhill Park, The Meadows, Morse Court
Apartments, Sunnyvale Town Center Apartments。 但看地图发现他们离机场(
Moffett Federal Airfield)挺 近。离San Jose 国际机场也不远。担心会很吵。也不
知是否安全。
在craigslist上有一些Sunnyvale南面house里single room的广告。房租要便宜
很多，但感觉有些远，也不知是否安全。

and commemorate not just Chinese victims, but the American
vets and POWs and our shared sacrifice.
A little bit of historic facts of the Doolittle Raids from wiki:
69 (American pilots) escaped capture or death, with only three KIA as a
result of the loss of their aircraft... The Chinese helped the Americans
escape. Eight Raiders were captured (POW), 3 were executed, 1 died in
captivity.
