另外，如果工作地点在Monroeville区，如果购买north allegheny, sewickley, fox
chapel, mt lebanon and upper saint clair等好学区的房子，是否会给上下班带来很
大麻烦？堵车？每天的交通状况如何？住在那个区域更适合一些？

chapel，Pine Richland。 东部Monroeville学区好像一般。2500SQFT5年之内房子(好
学区)要$300k and up. Monroeville的房价要低些。 Pittsburgh North 的Property Tax 大概是2%， Pittsburgh
South 的Property Tax 大概是 3%. |

Like Franklin Park.
A 10 - 20 years old house, with 3000 SF living area,
The price will be around 400k.
At Mt. Lebanon Or Upper St Clair, that price can buy
a 30 - 50 yrs old house with about 2000 SF.
At Moon area, that price can buy a brand new house.
I knew some Jewish families, they bough their house in a very
remote area,and send their kids to private school for 2 days/wk,
and home school for the other days.
With 1M, you can find a decent new house in a go |

发帖数: 831 | 11 前几年去north park看过，还不错，正好当时都有免费的kayak.
去年秋天去了Falling water,route381到了秋天很漂亮。
今年想换个地方看红叶，不打算远行，最好day trip吧，当天去当天回的那种。
我目前有几个idea:
1.cuyahoga国家公园。西北方向两小时车程。
算是离匹兹堡最近的国家公园，不过好像评价不高，红叶应该还是有得看的吧，还可以顺道去cleveland的中国超市买点东西。
2.West virginia, monongahela国家森林的北端。南面两小时车程。
我没去过西佛，听说是个风景优美的山区，有点小期待。麻烦推荐比较好的state park，想看到那种红黄绿交错的连绵山脉的景色。
3.Allegheny国家森林。东北方向两小时车程。
也是想看连绵山脉的景色。
麻烦去过的朋友指点或是提出更好的idea,谢谢先。 |

Mt. Lebanon (Soccer Mom, walk to school),
Upper Saint Clair (nerds are popular),
North Allegheny (Many new immigrants),
Fox Chapel (Shady side academy = one of the top school).
Hardly to say who is the #2 in "Good" SD.
All these areas -> SAFE, relatively.

发帖数: 10422 | 23 以前在 South Hill 地区上班的时候就注意到有些废弃的铁路路基改成的 trail。上周
末去走了一段（位于 Peters Twp），还挺有意思，风景也不错，有山有水，有铁桥有
隧道。。。等到了秋天风景可能会更漂亮。
由于原来是铁路路基，所以路面很平缓，几乎感觉不到有上下坡道。不像爬山，走或骑
车都不费劲。
回来研究了一下，那段属于 Montour Trail，还挺长，有60 miles。

even if with scholarship). 退税的钱，你就别想了. 投资，这里的房价比较稳定，
也没有什么太多好的机会.
现在allegheny county court order reassess property value, property tax也大涨
. 你买个10万的property, tax is around $200 per month. 如果是condo or
townhouse,每月还有250-450的fee.
加上前面人家提到的买进卖出的手续费和tax,你这样的，比起租房肯定是亏。
如果你有钱喜欢折腾，学习房产投资，当我没说。不过这样的话，也不用去看那个什么
allendale cir的房子, 有钱喜欢折腾的，不会喜欢那里房子的。 |

俺当时就在 Peterson Center，被保安堵在里面两个小时不让出来。不过透过玻璃幕墙
可以一睹现场盛况。基本上 University/City/County的三级police和SWAT全来了。
Terrace(Lothrop东侧), DeSoto, O'Hara三条街全封锁。你可以在这里见到痞子堡和
Allegheny County警方的各种平时你见不着的大型装备。 |

Montour Trail：
我骑过 McMurray——McDonald 大约 12mi 的一段，感觉还不错。
