英国《每日邮报》昨在网上发表了十张由澳洲摄影师拍摄的香港笼屋图片，标题为「香港笼狗」，内文提到香港是世上最富裕城市之一，但有黑暗一面，数千人住在面积只有四呎乘两呎半的笼屋。《每日邮报》又说，笼屋在港是几十年的房屋问题，却未有消失，香港经济只是集中金融服务，很多人无处容身，若不住笼屋便要露宿街头。
但《每日邮报》的图文将笼屋居民形容为「狗」，却引起港人反感，网民「废人3539」将有关内容张贴在高登讨论区，指「香港又扬威海外了」，引起讨论。「送大礼被喂屎」说：「强烈抵制英国佬影衰香港，伤害香港巿民感情！香港政府仲唔组团去英国，将英国最穷嘅一面影落嚟发畀香港人睇。」
