I've never heard of "anamorphic TV"? How could a TV be anamorphic? When it's
16:9, it's 16:9. when it's 4:3, it's 4:3. However there're some 4:3 HD TVs
that have anamorphic mode, such as some high-end 36" Sony, it can squeeze the
vertical scan. It's like turning your 36" 4:3 TV to an about 33" (you can do
the math) 16:9 TV.
About the vertical resolution, anamorphic widescreen DVD vs. non-anamorphic
widescreen DVD should be (16/9)/(4/3) = 1.33. |

上我就没买，苦等了两年，终成正果，haha。
不过就算是anamorphic的也不是一定就强。最近网上关于新版Reservoir Dogs的review滚
滚而来，据说是个shitty transfer，还不如以前non-anamorphic的老版本。可惜我早就
把老版本卖了:(
当然现在出自那些major studio的一般质量还是有保障的。

About 3,100 shots (78% of the Super 35 film) were color graded at Colorfront
in Wellington, NZ using 5D Colossus software after being scanned by an
Imagica XE scanner full 2K resolution (2048*1536). The color-graded shots
were then recorded on Kodak 5242 intermediate film by two Arri Laser film
recorders at 10 bits per channel. Because only 78% of the film was digital,
a digitally squeezed anamorphic print could not be made for the whole movie.

you are right. I actually didn't watch the movie when
I took the picture.... it's presented in 4:3, with
black bars on top and bottom... same as pulp fiction,
oh man, this SUCKS! I want to throw out those 2 DVDs
out now!!! :) anyway, tomorrow morning off to worstbuy
and get the new pulp fiction which should be in 16:9
presentation ratio...
the worst thing is those DVDs only say it's widescreen,
but don't mention whether it's anamorphic or not.

发帖数: 878 | 16 A lots of 9/11 DVDs coming out lately. Just watched this one, it's really
special as those online reviews said. It's made by two french brothers who
initially were making a documentary about a NY rookie fire fighter. They're
the only one who shot the first plane hitting and lots of scenes inside the
tower 1 after it's been hit...anyway, if you wanna go through that day again,
and even more closely, this is the best pick.
BTW: it's widescreen! though not anamorphic. |

但愿不要太差. "400 blows" 以前的那个版本在ebay上一般都要$200-300，其实效果挺次
的（non-anamorphic)。这次remastered的估计会挺不错。

print DVDs are from $14.99 to $19.99 at most. So if you can wait, most of the
currect new DVDs will drop to that price range in one or two years. But if you
want to buy them now, columbiahouse's price is still way unbeatable.
This DVD is not even anamorphic. $8.89 is still too much IMO, hehe. |
