就是大锅，或小耳朵。由于中文节目都是租用商用卫星广播
，功率比DirectTV and Dish TV的卫星小得多。所以天线盘
较大。不要指望可以用DirectTV的天线代替。
2。Receiver Box:
信号从天线出来，联到Box, 然后再输出到电视。这个Box起
解码，和选台的作用。所以，如果想两个电视看不同的节目
就要有两个Box. 一般来说，你必须有这个电视台的box和
Card (looks like a credit card) 才能收到他们的节目，
除非他们没加密。另外，模拟的和数字的节目要用不同的

Why? Good sensitivity, no directional selectivity.
HD is ALL or NONE: if you get a signal, you have it, very clear; if you do
not get a signal, you don't have it.
2. Why expensive HD antenna not good? Directional selectivity, you cannot
get all channels.
3. Why antenna with an amplifier not good? Actually it is not needed. The
signal is digitial. If you are not getting a good signal in your area,

1.省钱： $4 vs $20+ ,不过这不是主要的
2.效果：录像上强调的主要还是接收效果的问题，认为普通indoor antenna太差。网上
评论似乎也认可这种观点。但是不是真的，我做天线的时候其实是存疑的。
既然现在天线做好了，那么正好可以对比一下。我有个普通的indoor philips antenna
. 这个天线属于powered antenna,提供vhf和uhf gain.从装了cable后就没用过了，此
次正好拉出来试试。
接上philips，开始试着重新搜索频道。发觉十分困难，等了半天找不到一个。想了想
，觉得大概是自己调节的问题。不过天线有角度，长度，gain的太多因素影响，不可能
每调整一下就重新搜索一遍，太费时了。于是就利用DIY天线搜到的频道列表来做比较
。一是看philips能过让多少个台有图像，二是通过信号bar图（类似手机信号）比较两
个天线强弱。
又折腾了半个小时左右，反反复复调节philips上所有能拉能拧的东东，结果DIY天线的
频道philips有相当部分收不到。其中abc7算是本地比较强的信号，最好的时候，

我到Bestbuy买了几乎最便宜的converter box(转换器)和indoor antenna(室内天线)。
converter box大约$55, indoor antenna大约$15, 可以看到20多个频道。很多时候http://dtv.gov提供40美元的coupon买converter box。
converter box和indoor antenna都附有指示，易于安装。嗯, 文科生应该也能行。:))

mention of grounding wires, grounding blocks, a grounding rod or where to
ground the antenna, or cable stand offs. Go ahead and install the cable like

AppleCare的内部指导放出。苹果基本上否认信号有任何问题。
如果过一周苹果没有放出任何声明表示将通过软件更新fix这个问题的话，基本上就等
于苹果要赖账了。大家不要企图期望通过class lawsuit来解决这个问题，因为这个耗
时极长，可以长达两三年，用户得到的好处极为有限，也许就是两三年后每个用户拿到
一二十美元。
因此建议有这个问题的用户，打电话给AppleCare，绝对不要手软心软口软，一定要至
少搞到一个free bumper，如果拿不到bumper也拿不到store credit，就坚决退货。如
果你有朋友买了iPhone 4，建议告知让他们测试自己的手机是否有这个问题，如果有一
定要在购买之后退货截止日期之前要求退货。

你要自己改装也可以，IBM parts可以直接买，需要：
03T7191: IPEX to SMA adapter,无线网卡上的接口到后天线接口的连线，
54Y9356： 前patch antenna/cable
03T7203: 后whip天线
IBM shipping是flat rate $17,最后加tax,不算7260AC网卡，估计要150刀。
你也可以自己改，下面是digikey的parts,总计大概30刀不到：
WM5033-ND: molex patech antenna, 用于front

paper里它们经常关联出现。
Rayleigh channel 是time varying 的。但一个multipath channel 可能time varying
也可能 time nonvarying, 比如在室内，两个antennas 放在两个角落，位置不变，室
内的环境也没有变化，这样任何时候信号总是通过同样的multipath channel 从一个
antenna 到达另一个antenna的。这样的channel用一个FIR filter描述。
Time-varying multipath channel 很容易理解了，并且其变化服从Rayleigh
distribution也好理解。当然也可以用FIR描述，但filter coefficients，甚至filter
长度都可能是time varying。
我的这个理解有错不？
