Just download a I-539 form and read the instruction carefully. fill in the
form,prepare the relevant document and application fee, and send them to INS.
It takes about 2 months for the processing. Once you send out the file, you
will get a receipt first, with which your parents can stay legally until the
final approval/refusal arrives. Please find the URL of the application form as

1) "my feeling" is that you may not need to prepare that much and you can
get visa without problem.
2) you do not have to provide pre-paid envelope, they will return the
document is certified mail (in two
weeks in my case--a little longer than the cases I heard who provided pre-
paid return envelope)

If answer is yes, then there is no "H4" option in the purpose of trip to U.S.
Do I answer "no", and put my name under the prinicipal applicant, even
though I am not applying for Visa?

目标：1。去大城市生活，2。年纪大了后不要太辛苦。
背景是本科研究生都是电子(弱电)，航空电子Avionics System经验3年半。现在有些迷
茫。
航空电子
在Avionics System方向，做的是system级别的，把电子设备装在飞机上的design和
certification。只设计设备仪表和飞机的连接安装，不涉及设备里面的电路。
* 好处：工作经验很重要，年纪大的不会被淘汰。
* 坏处：应为身份问题找工作限制多。工作地方基本都是大农村。
石油
目前有这方面的Engineering－in－Training的机会。没有强电经验，所以要从头做
起。不知道石油方面，找工作的地方有哪些。希望能去大城市。对这个领域不了解。
* 好处：工作经验很重要，年纪大的不会被淘汰。
* 坏处：要从最基础做起，学习强电知识。
# 问题：这个工作能去的地方有哪些？是大城市么？工作机会多么？路宽or窄？如果经
济不好 被裁员还能去干什么？有身份要求么？

很多好贴子讲了申请的宝典，所以只介绍一下几点自己的经验，
国内的材料也是很管用的，1A 要各方面的材料都全一些比较好，书啊 专利啊，报道啊 会员啥的都有用，中文的当然要翻译好看一点。
推荐信和申请信放在一起看要互相照应，不能重复太多， 不能互不相关，要形成一套很有说服力的材料。
NIW 和1A 用同一套推荐信，内容没提到是申请哪一类。有几个是原版签名，其它是彩色复印。
没找大牌律师，找的BOSTON 本地律师。打指纹只要随便带一个驾照一类的ID 就行了，不用 |

over other fields. Of course if you are working on some important diseases
and go through NIW for GC application, USCIS might think your work is more

submitted a application to change OPT to H4 together with my husband's H1B
application of year 2010. We have not got the result but it should be able
to be approved without any problems. My question: Even I applied for change
of status from OPT to H4, till Oct. 1st, I'm still able to work with OPT,
right?
Also, I'll apply for H1B of the year soon, should there be any gaps to
prevent me from working legally?
