原来不论是20%off还是比如5off30，我都选择send to card，然后check out时如果总
金额达到或可以apply的东西，系统就会自动跳出提示问要不要apply
但昨晚在CVS一个机器就是不出提示，我说算了，也许我忘记把5off30 sendto card，
结账完receipt上居然显示我有5off30已经sent to card，just for you. 但是小二说
他也不知道怎么办，因为机器不出。让我今天去退货重新扫也许能出来，但今天的广告
已经是下周了，价格都变了，不知道能否原价再买回，同时apply 5 off。还是打
customer service让他们给我extra bucks?

题(Net 30)。其实刚开始我想用现金交易，不需要欠他们payable。所以不想apply
credit account。只是apply customer account。可以么？他们要求我提供银行信息，
需要查公司credit。这家公司是正儿八经的公司，我倒不怕他们是骗子。只是我想用现
金交易，cash on delivery，不必要的手续能不能省掉？

the new employ has applied for H1-B, they received the notice of receipt
from USCIS. It will take up to 4 months for it to be approved. The company
said if I cannot go within two weeks they will consider hiring someone else.
I know if I pay the PP fee it will be quicker but at this point I decided
either to stay at home taking care of my kids or taking a better offer as

我最近去renew驾照，我去的是norcross那个。
去之前我去GA DDS填了那个“Pre-Apply Online!”的表格，然后打印出来
confirmation。到了norcross DDS，前面很多人排队，服务人员看我有pre-apply
confirmation就让我直接领号，直接跳过了大概30米长的队伍。这个30米长队伍里的人
都要用电脑添信息，才能领号。 |

1）这2个应该是不同的路线吧，可是有多不同呢？能不能有人提供一些insights？他们

2）如果要想申business的phd，我知道 management/marketing会用到很多stat，数学
用的不
多，而operation research肯定就是数学为主了，因此这样说来的话要申请 m&m的话应
该去学统
计，要OR就是数学。金融我猜应该也是数学，不知道accounting的话，哪个更合适？
3）哪一个更难？虽然很多人说统计肯定简单些，但我感觉本科难度的课数学对我而言
比统计反而容易懂
和掌握，可能是因为我没有修过统计的理论课，一上来就应用不容易理解？
4）如果ms毕业直接工作的话，applied stat会更好吗？

统计学理解并不是很深刻。各种理论和数学推导都毫无困难能看懂，但是从概念上却没
有很深的理解（以前学了很多基于测度论的math stats，现在发现一点用都没有）。大
部分看过的applied stats的书感觉都好糟糕（以前上课用过weisberg的applied
linear regression，真是超烂的书，就是把公式和结果堆起来，概念和motivation完
全没有）
我想问问有什么书能满足：
1. 有讲到实际问题中regression可能遇到的问题，譬如survey中很多项目空缺是应该
怎么办，或者当有很多feature之间非常correlated时会出现什么问题应该如何解决，
等等。
2. 相对advanced。读者是researcher或者professional这种学过统计理论的。很多
applied/practical的书都太过初级，给本科生看得。
