but the focus of the article is there are fewer fast marathoners today,
which is a bad thing for U.S.
"three times as many male runners achieved the same qualifying
time in the U.S. Olympic marathon trials in 1984 as in 2008. The story is

I don't know if the article is online. I read it from the magazine. The guy
is a seasoned marathoner and ran 2:39 when he was 31 yrs old. He's tried
different things, including doing long runs as long as 30 miles. Then he was
coached by the Hansons to run only 16 miles in the long runs -- but the
training is such that, those 16 miles are supposed to be the LAST 16 miles
of a marathon, not the first 16 miles. Naturally, there is a lot of speed

Just read it in bookstore. (It's in the January issue, not available online
yet.)
I think it's remarkably similar to F.I.R.S.T. if you swap the easy/recovery
runs with triathlete's cross trainings. FIRST only has two 20-miles long
runs. But the pace the two plans require for speed, tempo & long runs are
very similar. They are all so-called "quality" runs.

昨天和老婆聊天,老婆说在水木上看了一个男性选手写给他领导的四周年纪念文章,说
很感人,非得要我看,老婆吩咐,不敢不从,以百米冲刺的速度看了那篇文章,确实不
错。说起我可爱的老婆,基本上就是听见风,就要跟出去看看,简称跟风。于是任务交
待下来,让文采奕奕的我,在我们四周年的时候,也要发一篇大作,不求上什么nature
,science,但至少要上清华某水木的首页导读。
是呀,相识两年了,结婚也一年了,我还没有任何paper献给我可爱的老婆,实在是委
屈她了。别人四周年纪念,我们完全可以搞个两周年纪念嘛。每两年一纪念,等到80岁
,就可以出一个文集了。

This news is recently discussed in several BBs, so I took
sometime to scan and read the article. It's kinda interesting,
basically, time travel may not be a dream, but it's pretty
darn hard to do it by using negative energy. Although I
have not read Kip Throne's paper on time travelling wormhole,
it is said that it's more of a way to show the conflict between
current quantum theories and theory on gravity, then a proof
that time travel is possible.

第一点,苹果起诉HTC和文章主要说的multi-touch专利无关。
第二点,作者完全不理解concept/idea和具体implementation之间的区别。
第三点,苹果的multi-touch专利不是把multi-touch这个单独的概念专利了。这个问题
上一群无知记者,民间blogger反复犯错。苹果patent的是它自己的一个具体的multi-
touch实现。这个早就被资深分析师分析过了。
第四点,虽然美国专利系统存在缺陷,但是一群根本不懂专利的人,看看专利标题是什
么就以为自己可以指点江山了真是可悲。
