surgical technologist & surgical first assistant， 顾名思义就是在手术室工作
的技术员和手术第一助手。surgical tech 主要工作像国内的器械护士，为即将到来的
手术准备器械和一切可能需要的用品，当然每个医生事先有preference card在电脑里
，你只要根据每个手术的不同稍作改变就行，再就是手术开始后递器械，清点所有的用
品，手术后包扎伤口等等。Surgical first assistant, 和surgical tech比起来，更
像surgeon's assistant, 主要任务是暴露手术野，止血，缝合伤口等（完全在外科医

国内是医学本科，想以后考医生执照，2010年申请了十多个PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

试一试申请PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT硕士PROGRAM，觉得这样对今后MATCH有帮助，毕竟是
HANDS-ON的临床工作经验，能够系统的了解美国的医疗系统，DUKE的生物统计硕士学费

grant后看能否转tenure-track assistant professor。不过就是70k，也感觉很少。生
物类的能拿到100k吧。
Professor的职位，不知怎的就聊到了salary，一问salary range在55~60k，平时听闻
Assistant Professor不都在70k起价吗？怎么会这么低？难道这个所谓的Research
Assistant Professor 其实就是Research Assistant，只是在大学所以加个Professor
的title? 难道不算 tenure track？ |

途是什么？我一直在想。这种工作一般就聘三年。而且，期间主要是教课，research没
什么进展。以前网上看到过一个数学的phd当了7，8个 visiting assistant professor
，每三年换一个地方,挺折腾的。还看到一个学统计的phd，先开始是visiting
assistant professor，之后折腾了许多年，才当上tenure-track assistant
professor。大家说说大家的所见吧。有没有可能，这种非tenure-track的职位之后，
去当instructor，或lecturer呢？或是去teaching school谋个职，但又好像身份是个

发帖数: 81 | 39 最近在找Assitant Professor的职位，有所大学offer一个Research Assistant Professor的职位，不知怎的就聊到了salary，一问salary range在55~60k，平时听闻Assistant Professor不都在70k起价吗？怎么会这么低？难道这个所谓的Research Assistant Professor 其实就是Research Assistant，只是在大学所以加个Professor的title? 难道不算 tenure track？

summer pay, 还要在各种service committee看senior faculty的脸色见风使舵，就这
样，还不如关起门来闷头做学问的Research Assistant Professor挣得多。真是没天理
了。要不是有个甜妞得盼头，还不如回炉当postdoc去，至少不用去玩politics game。

题不太清楚，想请有过经历的朋友指教一下：
1. Relocation Assistance的钱是“实报实销”吗？还是把钱直接给你，由你自己支配？
2. 知道Relocation Assistance应该包括搬家的费用，这没问题，但是是否也可以包括
卖旧房子和买新房子的费用呢？
3. 如果包括卖房子的费用，那卖房子之前对房子的维修费用是不是也可以包括在内？
4. 如果新单位问你Relocation Assistance需要多少钱，提多少算合适呢？（i.e.：合理范围，或利益最大化但又不让对方感觉是“狮子大开口”）
