发帖数: 83 | 45 很多中国大学Nature Index的排名都很高，看了它的排名方法之后，发现好像是专门给
中国的大学做门面的。用68个期刊的发表情况来排名，真正的Nature子刊是其中很小的
一部分。一个化学系或物理系在chemical communications or applied physics
letters发表很多文章就可以排得很高，哪怕一片Nature子刊都没有。这个排名忒糊弄
了...弄得很多国内高校吹嘘自己超过MIT,加州理工。

But have you paid attention to law of physics?
Basically you need nuclear reaction (either fusion or fission) to make gold
out of other materials. Fusion from lighter atoms is pretty much forbidden
by energy conservation in the case of Au unless you infuse astronomical
amount of energy into it. For fission, are there any cheaper and abundunt
heavier atom to begin with?
I will not call it completely impossible given that our understanding of

What good is an equity market if there's no fundamental strength behind
it? I don't know if Zimbabwe has a stock market or not, if they do it
must be all astronomical #s. That market could go up one billion points

astronomical stock fund like FCNTX.
Having said that, I have a lot of FCNTX in my 401k, not because I like it,
just because I have little choice, the alternatives are worse.
