working part-time. I'll be 1L in August, and considering my background (phd,
work experience in biotech industry, several patents), there's a good
chance I might get into patent law, but I'm not decided yet. From my
previous experience working with IP attorneys, this looks pretty boring to
me. But I'd like to find some part-time work in the field to cover some
living costs.

没别的事干了。我们也是传统的long call，很折磨人的。我昨晚on call收了7个病人
，1分钟都没能睡，今天还是搞到1点才回家。我知道我的H&P写的很烂很简单，不是我
不负责，是实在没时间，一边写，beeper一边在叫。我要不能按时完成，senior，
attending第二天都能把我分了吃了。on call一次，感觉要在家疗伤疗很久。 |

This is exactly how I feel now:(( I am really amazed by how slow I am. My co
-interns always sign out 2 hours before I do. Now I feel like a big baby of
the entire class. I am pretty sure everybody in the hospital remember me as
the clueless one by now, I think the attendings even slow down a little when
they talk to me. Fortunately my residents so far are all nice and they
cover for me a lot, but I still would like to speed up a little bit.

day I did not even know how to edit notes once they are posted , so my note
indeed did not look as good as I want it to be, of course looked even worse
in the attending's eyes. The VA system only goes back to 10 years ago. And
many patients also have outside doctors, so not all info are accessible from
the system :(.

为了增加US clinical experience, 那一年的夏天我去了离家很远的外州去做
externship, 本来被安排好了跟不同的医生轮转，每人一个月，可计划不如变化，有
一个rotation的医生临时有变，我就眼看着要被放鸽子了，一位朋友给了我一个他跟过
的Dr. MM的电话号码，让我自己联系看看。我就给Dr.MM打了电话， Dr. MM说让我去
他那里一趟，具体再谈谈rotation的事情。
他的诊所是在一个小城的医院，那里离我在的城市的中心火车站坐火车要1个多小时，
从我住的地方到中心火车站要30多分钟，从他所在的小城的火车站到医院还有一段距离
，没有公车，走路大概要20-30分钟吧，但好像很多地方都没有sidewalk。
约了时间后我就去了，到了小城的火车站后打了出租车直奔医院。找到了Dr.MM的诊所,
听朋友说他已经61岁，但看起来象50岁，印度南方人，皮肤偏黑，个子不高，偏瘦，
人很精干，精神，热情，英语也很好，他问了我的背景，到他那里去的目的等等，然后

younger than him. His wife was, is and will be the CEO for a big hospital,
and of course makes millions.
If you are not married, it is not big deal if you handle it correctly, in an
American way. |

chinese colleagues, or do consulting service for chinese patients. but they
also have some concerns:
1. liability: this is a big issue. it is realated telemdicine malpractice
insurance. normally most of doctor's insurance dont cover this. but if you
do consulting as a member of group ,like telemed company, or hospital ,

如果是，你大可以继续寻求机会，以attending的身份继续科研。
可是很多人当初做科研是为了出国机会、生活来源、申办绿卡等，而且浸淫几年也发现
兴趣并不大，或者说没有对临床医治病人兴趣更大，所以果断斩仓，一心临床。
如果只是因为我已经做了这么多，不继续很浪费的心理，是典型的股票套牢心理，并不
是真心喜欢，那样去做科研，没什么意思。如果是因为自己觉得和AMG或是印度医生比
只有科研优势，在进residency前有这种想法无可厚非，如果快轮完了还对自己的临床
这么没有自信，那就太... |
