发帖数: 746 | 1 个人体会，觉得整理一下给正在match的同行们做个参考。这里说的是CMG的总体情况，
不适于一些突出人才。
关于现在CMG在美match的形势，个人认为很严峻，而且在短期内无法缓解，甚至很可能
进一步恶化。从三个阶段分析:
1. match前的竞争情况：
a.AMG(MD/DO)扩招是不争的事实，具体增长在20%左右
b.加勒比医学院扩招。他们的毕业生在竞争力上仅次于AMG,在IMG名列前茅
c.在IMG中，从个人经验中，CMG的总体竞争力低于印巴，中东，应该属于中下。
d.CMG中，老毕业生占很大比例，英语和文化交流方面相比较差
e.由于目前CMG在美国医生中占少数，而且高职位的相对较少，相比印度等IMG缺少群体
优势
2. match后的情况
a. Medicare funding cut 将会造成residency slot cut. 在其他resident/fellow的
帖子中已经证实了这点。前面引用的AMA statement应该是权威的来源。
b. 即使不减少，由于第一点谈到的扩招，也面临僧多粥少的局面，供小于求。

decision, you certainly should pur all the effort to make it happen.
I almost died while i was preparing for the boards, matched twice, flew
back China to work the very first J sponsor letter out, and spent a fortune.
I got about 30 IVs and matched at YOG 15, with average score, pathetic
research, and no connections. So, if you really want it, try harder, wish
the best, but prepare for the worst. Good luck everyone. |

有大批AMG涌现，老的xdjm们，心里烦，乱，闷啊。
早知如此，兴许当初就不应该选择考board这条路，考试费神费力费钱，更需要毅力和
体力，如今大家都走过来了，以为该是瓜熟蒂落了，结果发现如此形势，就是坚持下去
，或许就是年复一年的投银子？是不是该说放弃的时候了？周围有人很明智的一开始就
选择走PA，如今早已经工作数年，钱不少挣，压力也不大，还没有我们就算是千军万马

mean(t) = q * mean( t-1) + (1-q) * x(t)
where x(1), x(2), ... are the data points.
My question is: how to get an "unbiased" estimate for standard devidation? A
naive formula would be:
var(t) = q * var( t-1) + (1-q) * ( x(t) - mean(t) )^2
but I don't think this is an unbiased estimate, and my simulation says it is
not.

bagging是用不同的bootstrap data去train model，然后平均这些model
boosting就是每步都变化example的weight去train一个model，最后也是加权平均这些m
odels，
你只有两个model，也没啥办法了，BMA，好像实际效果不好，你可以看看。
这些东西都有个统称，叫ensemble method，当然不同field可能有不同叫法。或者叫co
nsensus。

第一种方法，极端的例子，如果一个survey里 90个missing，10个人选a，对答案就会
有很大的影响。
开始的时候，第二种方法，里面每个survey对象有三次repeated measure，我老觉得不
独立。现在想想，这个average根本就不假设独立性。应该不是问题。
