多伦多是加国的皇后城市，集都市的诱惑与自然的美丽于一体。从纽约
州搬到安大略省已一年有余，尽管俺对这个国家有地大物博的寄生虫之戏称
，对她的感激却是从第一天晚上就开始的。
话说去年春夏之交，俺辞去病汉屯的工作，取消毕业典礼举旗的安排，
从内子的工作所在地纽约市北上驱车近十小时（外加两小时过关），于晚上
九点抵达多伦多。眼见天色已晚，既定目的地渥太华还有四、五小时，心想
干脆就在这里落户吧。
在一个十字路口等着左转弯，按照本人在纽约市多年与黄狼共舞养成的

旅加百日漫记

今天是我来到加拿大的第一百天。
十二月初到多伦多时，阳光还特别的好，气温也比想象中高得多。朋友说往
年这时候早下过头场雪了，今年的天气实在有些反常。我于是担心这样的好天气
会一直持续下去，因为我想看雪的心情已积蓄了很久。不过这种担心很快就被证
实为多余。因为住在地下室，看不见外面的世界，我一早起来仍象往常一样走出
去，做一些可有可无 |

因我在小镇住了几年，很快就感到不习惯大城市的种种不便。朋友本来就少
得曲指可数，因住得远，很难有见面机会；想去多大找份工，也碍于市中心的交
通拥挤，竟一次没试过；最重要的是，晚饭后爱散步的习性难以满足。因为地下
室与房东同一出口，有种被“监视居住”的感觉；门外也满是车和人，没有安静
的去处，烦躁的心情在这嘈杂的城市里便失去了安抚释放的场所。朋友们多数住
在地下室里，成为我心中的一道风景，因为来多伦多以前，除了老家存食物的地
窖，地下室的概念就是备战用的防空洞。多伦多的地窖，只要地段 |

在多伦多过了一个多月的地下室生活后，我终于感觉到难以忍受的压抑。于
是和妻子商议迁徙。往哪搬呢？朋友从蒙特利尔来电话说那里很不错，房租也便
宜，我倒也有心体会一下法兰西风情。凑巧一个住在海明顿(Hamilton)的旧日同
事邀我们去玩，这个城市给我们留下了良好的印象，于是便就近移了过来。从多
伦多以北穿过闹市，沿“女王高速公路”南下海明顿，再到六十公里外世界上最
大的瀑布---尼亚加拉大瀑布，组成一个半环状，拥抱着波光粼粼的安大略湖，这
就是著名的“金马蹄”地带，也是加拿大最富庶的 |

来海明顿半个月的时候，曾得到过一份工作，在一家牙科诊所做假牙。大年
三十的晚上，我打电话给国内亲友拜年，告诉他们我有了工作。第二天大年初一
，我一早赶去上班，经理说要跟我谈一谈，，我没想到她的第一句话竟是“我们
觉得你做的不够好”，没等她说下去，我就起身说“那我走了”。这是我上班的
第三天。在国内时，我是个牙医，虽没做过多少假牙，但确是学过的，而且我相
信练上十天半月必能胜任。那天我气在心头，晚上竟发起烧来。因为来加拿大不
足三个月，医疗保险尚未生效，妻怕我脑子烧坏了，说我本来就笨 |

初到纽约, 已近深夜, 坐上公交车, 穿行于狭窄的街道, 但见路边的墙上满是
不知名的业余艺术家们用彩色喷漆绘上的抽象图案, 几无一点空白, 时而转上
高架桥, 便见两侧凌乱地挤满了各式高高矮矮了无次序的房子, 一如上海共和
路桥改造前的景象. 车行约半小时, 道路越来越窄, 街边也赫然出现了熟悉的
霓虹灯汉语市招, 便知已经进入了flushing的华人聚居区. 待到下车, 只见本
已拥挤的道路两边平行趴满了汽车, 几乎找不到一个空位, 走在街上的感觉和
上海黄河路或是乍浦路竞如此相似, 只是满地纸屑垃圾, 脏乱尤在上海之上.

来美国後经离历了许许多多愉快或痛苦的适应与转变，其中之一是学会忍受
分离。
美国是一个装在轮子上的国家，有统计说美国人平均五年搬迁一次。来美的
中国人自然也不得不“入乡问俗”。於是，刚刚经历了去国离乡的人们，又一而
再地面 临著与亲友分离的煎熬，真正体验到颠簸流离，独在异乡为异客的滋味
。来美三年，我目睹了无数次的送往别离；事实上，当初与我一同到来的朋友们
现在大多因转学或工作四散而去，东西南北地撒在了美国各地，真可谓聚少离多

想起在国内念大学时，人人都隶属于一个班级，从上课到体育比赛乃至政治
学习，大家在一起度过许多时光，也因此彼此结下很强的感情纽带，从同班同系
的同学中往往会产生一个人一生一世的挚友。而在美国大学，同学仅仅意谓著共
同上一门课而已，课后各奔东西，彼此可以没有任何其他往来。在美国三年，尽
管认识过很多美国同学，真正有过较多交往的却聊聊无几，对他们也只有一般了
解而已。
印象中，美国同学一个个自我感觉良好且能说会道，不管什么样的题目，都
能逮著侃上一通；也不管有理无理，是否站得住脚，都是一副唯我独尊， |

1.辅食自己做—Baby Food Maker
满4个月的时候，儿医告知说可以给宝宝尝试辅食了。在经过了一个月小心的尝试之后
，发现宝宝对各种的蔬菜，水果接受的都还不错，没有什么过敏反应，而且每天吃的量
也在慢慢增加。于是，我决定入手一个想了很久的Beaba Babycook Baby Food Maker，
这一款已经是很有名气的了，据说来自法国（本来俺法国的老友要给俺买的，但是最近
她太忙只能俺自己入手了！呜呜，可怜俺的钱包！）
这款机器最大的好处就是蒸和打碎在一起，节省空间，节省时间！根据食材的不同，分
3档水量，蒸不同的时间，而且自动断电保温，所以蒸的过程可以走开，不担心会有危
险。这大半个月来，已经尝试了各种蔬菜，水果，米糊，效果真的算不错，打出来的糊
糊很细腻，宝宝吃的花样也多了许多。
做饭本来就是我的最大爱好之一，对自己的宝宝当然就更不能马虎啦，终于可以到了让
我一展身手的时候，我一定会继续努力，做更多健康美味的食物给小子轩！怎样也不能
让他和他爸爸一样瘦巴巴！
还有一个小计划，等做的食物花样多了，成熟了，一定也会拍下照片，写成食谱放在自
