As far as the way heat is generated and circulated, you can have hot water
based or forced air based.
hot water based means water is heated in furnace and circulating in either
a so called radiator (nuan3 qi4 pian4) or a baseboard in every room, hot
water through the metal pipes radiates heat.
Forced air system circulates the air(either heated or cooled) through
instead of hot water, so A/C can be integrated more easily.

是穷人,所有工作都是自己动手,拆掉所有地毯,全部换上地板. LD 干活是拖拖拉拉,尤
其是这个楼梯,想着就很困难,迟迟不敢开始.一说干活,就要休息,尤其爱上BBS.我就许
诺说,如果你完成任务,我就把你的功劳在BBS上登出来,SHOW OFF一下.也许这话还真的
起了作用,LD总算是铺完了楼梯,现在除了楼上bathroom是vinyl,其他都换成了木地板或
者是tile.我也得实现诺言,把LD的成果展示一下. 大家多给点表扬,也让LD有动力接着
进行home improvement.:)

其实只铺房间的地板还是比较容易的,楼梯比较难.先讲讲怎么铺容易的吧.
1.make sure地面是平的,不平的尽量弄平.先天不足,后天难补.我们先铺的地板就犯了
这个错误,以至于地板不平.
2.卸baseboard (option),如果不卸,就用quarter |

在网上查了一下， 很多人都说paint on oak is an original sin. 说这样做很贵，也
不好看，而且还会使房屋贬值。
我自己觉得在上边弄层白漆，也不需要能看出木头的纹理， 这样做会很贵么？ 另外白
色总比oak的原色强吧， 卖房子的时候肯定也是白色看着顺眼些啊。

Depending on the look you want and price you want to pay, I would suggest
natural stone material with under floor heating element. You may want to
cosider mosaic tiles for your bathroom, some large pieces can get very
slipery when wet.

together will be much less work than to brush them over on the wall, plus
the look on it will be much better.
So pop all of them off first, lightly sand them over with a sanding block,
damp wipe, let dry, spray them 2 coats (wait for first coat to dry first),
put them back (you might want to label them in the back when you take off if
you are doing a lot of them)

另外再问一下有没有在踢脚板里走线的？也就是baseboard。family room装的木地板，
木板离干墙留有空隙，大概可以走一两根线，不知道可不可以把踢脚板拿下，走好喇叭
线，再装上踢脚板。

Or you can can get a large radial arm saw that can cut both directions (RWKR
favorite)
Anything with a cord will be powerful enough for what you need.
If all your cut ends and sides are going to be under trim pieces (baseboard), you can get away with only a corded circular saw. But takes some practice to cut length wise.
