实践证明从 WARREN 每天 COMMUTE 去 CITY 中城基本是不可行的； BASKING
RIDGE 也差不多， 累死。
房子这东西一分钱一分货， 贵有贵的道理，便宜有便宜的原因。 WARREN /
BASKING RIDGE 房子较便宜，但去 NYC 上班无论何种方式都很痛苦。当然如果在
NJ 上班这些地方都不错。 |

南美的一些品种不好养。

觉，浮想联

well. I have a lot of deal in New Providence, Berkely Height, Westfield,
Millburn/Short Hills, and Warren. All above towns are Chinese buyers prefer
areas. For other towns far away from my home, I do limited service and
split higher amount of rebate from my commission with the buyers.

。 比如basking ridge, ridgewood， 西温莎都是J. Tenafly（亚裔多）, Livingston
（环境一般）都是I.
第一纵队25个， 我们经常讨论的有Allendale(Northern Highlands), basking ridge(
Bernards), Chatham, Cranbury, Glen Rock, Mendham, Millburn, Monggomery,
Mountain Lakes, Ridgewood, Saddle，River, Upper Saddle River, Woodcliff Lake
, West Windsor.
Bergen county 7个， Morris county 6个。 Bergen county的7个全部集中在一块，
就在bergen north铁路沿线。

上班78往东一直到summit都不会赌，但是287N会小堵一点。不过总体来说很容易。下班

Bridgewater 是很大的学区， 一个年级16个班。 这么大的学校， 有好有坏的方面吧。
Warren 的居民 social economic statistics 比Bridgewater要高一些。
大房子多。 住在山上， 僻静。
我住在Bridgewater 觉得买东西方便， 走几分钟就可以到不少店。
很多是平地不是山地，好走。 周围人也多。
旁边Somerville是个有点规模的小县城。
Basking ridge 更好一些。 Somerset Hills region 这些区都很好。

ridge 8月上市的一套房子，开价115万，2-3个礼拜就under contract, 以为成交价差
不多。结果10天前close,发现成交价106万。周围其它房子没有这么大的降幅或开价不
合理的，几乎卖不动。不知道就basking ridge这样还是近期的普遍现像？
今年2-3月房市还挺火的，从6，7月好像就不行了。现在这样，有什么原因吗？

班，有住过apartment,有住人家家里，室友有中国人，老美，也自己一个人住过。
现在考虑买房，预算40万左右。主要用于自住。学区对我目前影响不大，但是估计对房
子保值有影响。
朋友，同事有住Basking ridge的，livingston, summit, millburn，远的还有hoboken
的，和他们讨论了一下，主要有几个建议。
1. 老美同事建议，单身可以考虑hoboken。个人感觉对于hoboken,
优点： 适合无家庭的，活动丰富，热闹。进城玩也方便，将来可能也会好卖点（如
果靠近轻轨，Path）；缺点：房子小，估计40万也就studio或者1bd; 通勤时间长，开
车单程40分钟（ 估计跟大多数人Commute方向相反，不知道堵不堵）；貌似很多地方会
淹水；而且感觉在新泽西里面跑去跟city上班的人抢房子，是不是不明智。
2. 自己去harrison看过几次球，感觉靠近path的房子也不错，但是听说淹过几次了，

东
起Millburn, Livingston, 西至Basking Ridge. 连绵一片都是好学区，也是四大块中
唯一华裔人口超过印度裔人口的地区。
Linvingson在Millburn以北， 是传统华人聚集区，也是一等好学区。亚裔约20%,其中
六成为华裔， 据说孩子间竞争激烈，补习成风。 南部和东北部少数社区环境较好,其
他地方
比较蓝领，而且房价昂贵。 一些在旧社区翻盖的新房也要近百万。生活还算
方便，但没有火车，很多人先开半小时高速到Harrison， 转Path进城.
Millburn,尤其Short Hills, 长期以来是新泽西的第一学区， 也是著名的富豪区(王永
庆就是在这里度过最后时光的）。 华裔为主的亚裔虽然只占二成， 但SAT平均成绩超
过1800, 加上富贵家庭很多，每年有近10%的毕业生上名校。 Short Hills环境优美，
通勤便利（通勤门到门在一小时以内），百万也只能买下小黑屋。 这里离一些治安黑

这个看来跟newsweek的排名correlation比较大,
但是是前两三年的. 从newsweek这个来看, basking ridge,
从11->2, bernas从50->6, 说明这些地方中国人聚居几年以来,
子女逐渐成长起来, 带动了高中排名的上升.
相对而言, bergen county册很多学校排名下滑幅度比较大. |

人来说（美国最远去过alaska的的deadhorse，中国成都四川各地工作出差呆了整整一
年），东部basking ridge，NJ住过5年，virginia读的书
chicago是我现在觉的比较满意的城市,来说一下几根城市
1. 就日本人那几万吨的辐射水灌录太平洋，加州的city就不要来这里凑热闹比了，后
面几十年都没有办法比
2. 东部的话，就拿冬天比吧，风大又怎么样，东部的雪都是冬雨，在NJ，冬天我最怕
下雪，门都不想出，山坡碰上冬雨，那是马路杀手。雪也没有办法铲。chicago的雪就
好很多，干，拿着铲雪肌，10分钟产完。我很喜欢这里的冬天的雪，christimas，屋里
圣诞树，壁炉里暖暖的火，外面鹅毛大雪，非常祥和平静的冬天。路上也还可以，开40
-45mile没有问题
3. 从城市面貌来说，chicago城市规划非常好，你如果去downtown，走lake shore
drive，你有没有发现集装箱车根本看不见？？NYC的道路上，18轮和你抢道。呵呵，这

At around 130 days until Election Day, National Public Radio thought it
would be nice to give the President a little boost by going back to its 2008
practice of assigning to Obama the god-like powers of The One, The Light
Bringer, The Obammessiah.
