曾经有个朋友家邻居的$800 bayline 120 匹马力。
朋友说他出面买$500就能拿下。
我朋友告诉我那个船，就买了下水过一次，然后就一直停在后院里用布盖着好几年。
真的很新，几乎9.9成新。就是放太久了，下水前需要修修。
可惜一没地方停，二来我的车不能towing...
无限遗憾。。。 |

peter laird和peter jones。 Peter laird是个非常好的scientist，发明了
methylight和cobra，非常聪明，从传统bench现在开始做epigenomic的东西， 对整个
领域的把握非常好，可以去搜他的nature review paper，从99年到现在的。刚刚主持
了aacr的epigenetics特别会议。听过很多人的talk，他是我最喜欢的speaker，很有个
人魅力的一个人
peter jones更牛，就不用说啦。不过个人喜欢peter laird
Johns hopkins的steve baylin, 还有有人说的jean-pierre issa，都认识，也觉得不

发帖数: 863 | 14 个人觉得，En Li在norvatis有点小扯，他是甲基化与ES cell方向的牛人，但是去了
norvatis还是在做dnmt相关的基础项目。除了08年的Dnmt1 KO有点实际应用的方向外。
而不是想steve baylin和peter jones在真正push DNMT inhibitor的translational
research.
现在他回去后又在玩MeCP2,想在脑中一半表达mutant MeCP2的neuron中activate那份携
带正常copy但被slience掉得 X chromosome。
anyway,他在美国一个postdoc在做epigenetics的drug,据说有上到phase II,不知后续
如何哈。

发帖数: 863 | 15 目前是因为bisulfite几年之前很少有whole genome的coverage，尤其是Steve Baylin
在早期的promoter methylation repress gene expression的问题上搞得有点over
simplified.现在整个field都在拓展到whole genome，发现了gene body的methylation
其实是促进表达的。而且新的DNA modification比如hydroxylmethylation的发现完全
改变了对一部分DNA methylation数据的解读。
这种因为技术本身限制的问题并不能说以前的research都是trash.我也知道bisulfite
降解DNA但不能说因为降解DNA就回家睡觉啥也不干了...听蝲蝲蛄叫还不种地了么？而
且这不就是知道这个问题的人找出新方法大显身手的时候么？ |
