发帖数: 154 | 1 I went to a piano recital by pianist Jeremy Denk. His program is quite
intereseting
to me because it is:
Debussy: The Suit Bergamacue
Schumann: 12 Symphonic Etudes
Bartok : Piano sonata No. 2
Beethovan: Sonata opus 111
It so happens that most pianists I heard last season are all very academiclly
well-known and most of them are famous Beethovan players who is very " german"
and "classical" in a way. Jeremy Denk is a good change.
Heavy duty works!!

Cage doesn't.
I think for everyone, it is very hard to learn to appreciate
Avant-guard
music when you listen to Bach, Mozart and Beethovan.
It makes you sleep is not their fault. If you are a
composer, it is impossible
for you to compose the music as the same as 100 years ago.
You will be
kicked out of Conservatory. Composing is fun not only it
creats beautiful
music but it is a game.
I begin to listen to Avant guard ( or post Modern) sinc |

发帖数: 585 | 6 Zhu Ye was amongst those children who studied piano in
Chinese
Central conservatory 's junior school. I was there too. Her
name and her play was
like a unforgettalbe lesson I have ever had. My mother, my
piano teacher and
the other suffereer's mothers and teachers were all praising
her all the time.
I guess she won numorous prizes when we were young. And in
the very competition
I repeated twice the theme of Beethovan's sonata and I
failed, she won the first prize.
And after that, she immigrated |

Today I met Barber; the other day I encounter Beethovan;
Next time I refind Bramhs; tomorrow night will be my lovely Mozart.
8pm is for Bach; 8am is for Chopin.
3pm is for Shostakovich;3am is for Rachmaninov.
This is a piece of orchestra; That is perfect for piano solo.
What an amazing piece of string quratet!
Oh, I have to play Scriabin and hopefully can learn some Handel.
All these great works, even the less unknown ones, all add joy |

them, it's where I live... I've had enough of the chaos in so called thrash
metal or black metal or what ever.... too far from the music and vocal is always
important, just like beethovan has to use vocal in the music, the words are
more touching than pure music, when they murmur things in weird ways, the power
of that lost....
godsmack is just nothing new, they were pleasing from the beginning, like

我第一次读到是刚来美国不久，今天偶然又翻到，觉得peoplem的这个校友
(Alyce Su)还是很有趣的，虽然里面很多东西跟今天的世界已经差别很大了。
