老公北美刚毕业工作，我在上学。全家日子过的比较节俭，一般就是在家做饭吃。我自
己在国内上班的时候，花钱比较大方，娱乐，吃，穿，用，旅游，样样都精彩。来到北
美，目前老公一个人收入养家，还是不宽裕的，很多想吃，想穿的就都戒了。
昨天从学校回来，饿了，就买了个麦当劳的big mac，总价是4刀多，吃了就吃了。今天
周末，老公说给我买好吃的，专门打印的coupon，可以省2刀。我听到可以省2刀后，很
快想到，昨天下午4刀的big mac ，以及上周喝咖啡和饮料的消费，和在一起，有30多
了，额，突然觉得很自责，有点觉得自己很败家的感觉。

Part 0 "battleship cove" 简介
从博士屯驱车南行约40分钟，如果不堵车的话，就能到达著名的"battleship cove" 那里
号称世界上最大的战舰博物馆， 不过战舰湾battleship
cove其实只有一条战列舰battleship--- USS Massachusetts (Big Mamie). :-P
和我经常拜访的USAF National Museum 相比，这个博物馆工作人员太少，专业人员更少
。外加Big Mamie 里面的路标不是很清楚，所以很容易在迷宫一样的舱室里转向。 还有
就是身高超过6 英尺的一定要小心，我碰了至少n次脑袋，几乎被撞晕。 没想到Big
Mamie 的舱室竟然也是如此的拥挤, 是个开碰头 |

发帖数: 2446 | 26 2008的圣诞节，和朋友一起去了一次Big Bend National Park，号称是全美国最少游客的国家公园。
因为真的交通很不方便，我们周三凌晨１２：３０从休斯敦出发，两个人轮换着开车，
一直到当天中午１２：３０才到达营地，整整１２个小时。
距离Big Bend，最近的一个小镇是Marathon, 69 miles: 真的很小啊，就那么一条路，左右分别就那么１个加油站，一个餐馆，１处motel...
距离最近的比较像样子的城市，应该是 San Antonio,406 miles...
公园总面积3,242 平方千米，大约393 千米是美国和墨西哥的边境。
我们第一天去的hot spring 区域就是边境线，一条浅浅的十来米宽的小河，卷起裤脚管就可以淌过去的，对面就是墨西哥了。
据说是有人这么偷渡过来的，当然要有人在这里接应，不然的话，基本没有可能从 Big bend 走出去。
忘记说了，Big bend 是北美最大的美洲狮聚集地，基本上每周都会有几个路人看见狮子的报告。
狮子主要是晚上出行，白天都在睡觉，很不幸我们一个都没有看到。

看到很多朋友在筹备去big bend,最近刚去过，抛砖引玉谈点经验。首先就是一下10号公
路，那里就是你最后一个有便宜油的地方了，也是最后一个有fast food 连锁店的地方
。之后的油价都要飙升了，务必要这里灌满。
简单的讲，可以用H来表示big bend的地形。左，右上分别是alpine,Marathon两个离bi
g bend最近的城市，都有近60迈。一般大家经过的是marathon.这里的有超市，住宿,加
油站。
big bend里面有自己的油站，零售店里的东西很全，价钱也还合理。。然后里面分三个
部分，chisos basin在H的-处，有最多的餐馆，H的左下角是castolon,右下角是rio gr
ande village,village处有公园唯一洗澡的地方，投币的，和洗衣房在一起。这里和ch

这周去的是 Mt. Wire,因为山顶上有两块手机信号的反射板，所以大家一般叫它Big
Beacon. Big Beacon从University research park或者是从Pioneer Park都可以上. 如
果从research park这边出发，它应该是除了Mt. Van Cott之外离学校最近的一个山头
了. Big Beacon不是很高,只有7143feet,但是因为要在2mile左右的路程里上升
2100feet,路上还是有一些能让你气喘吁吁的路段的. Trail一开始的时候岔路不少,不
过因为最宽的一条是最缓的一条,所以沿着主路走不会有太大的问题. 几张照片：
