游记懒得写了，乘我还记得，把几个Popular的景点开车过去的路线简单说一下：
1. June Lake Loop
395过了mammoth lakes后再往北开30mile，看路标，在路左边，又叫Rt 158
June Lake和Silver Lake景色很好，June Lake有picnic area，可以用餐。
2. Parker Lake
在June Lake Loop上过了Silver Lake，进入Grant Lake之后，看路标，路左边，
是条unpaved的小路开进去，开2 mile到Parker lake trailhead，走trail进去
大概3 mile可以到湖边，这条trail后半段景色非常好，而且基本木有爬升。
3. Mono Lake
a. Visitor Center，395过了June lake Loop再往北，大概10mile，看路标，路右边。
是Mono Lake和Yosemite共用的一个visitor center，有观景台俯瞰整个Mono Lake。

劳动节游鸭湖
最近出去玩了几次，觉得有意思，写出来游记跟大家分享。这是第一篇。
劳动节长周末的背包计划，本来打算去Yosemite，经过Budd lake到Cathedral lakes,
再到附近什么地方混混再出来。结果呢，因为发大火的原因，整个tuolumne meadow地
区全都烟雾弥漫。所以打算去别的地方。
星期五晚上开到Lee Vining附近的营地，第二天一早去了Lee Vining的Ranger station
，确定去哪里，并且拿野外过夜的许可证。那天一早，南风的风势减弱，就连Lee
Vining也是烟雾弥漫。我本来打算去Thousand Islands Lake，结果一看烟雾太重，顿
时失去了兴致。Lee Vining Ranger Station的人建议我往南，去mammoth lakes看情况

发帖数: 838 | 17 上周末开始，有两个朋友买了quickdraws。于是我们开始了sport climbing。先说一下
这初始两次的尝试。然后说最近训练心得。
第一个周末:
warm up 5.6;
lead了一个5.8，
follow了两个5.8;
follow了一个5.10c
第二个周末：
全都是lead climbing
两条multipicth的路线，一个是5.8;另外一个是5.9(this one is 180-feet long; the
ascend is sing pitch, but the descend is three picthes from the other side)
一条也是multipicth，但是没上第二个pitch。第一个pitch是5.10a/b。
我爬的比较慢，用朋友的话说是边爬边想的那种，所以在户外目前还一般不怎么take。
估计上的route还比较简单没有特别demanding的。但是现在还没有helmet，有时候也比
较担心掉下来，所以都是非常确定有好的position的时候才move on。还有我个子矮，

差不多，不走回头路，结果从峡谷到维加斯还是走了回头路。如果楼主是7月份去，
Death Valley可能气温很高，要注意安全。
Day 0 (12, Wed): 晚机飞圣荷西，机场提车，朋友聚会。
Day 1 (13, Thu): SF一日游。
- 在朋友家聊天，早餐。
- 渔人码头 （Fisherman’s Wharf）
- 九曲花街 （Lombard Street）
- 金门桥，到达北边的Vista Point
- 朋友聚会饭局。
Day 2 (14, Fri): 开车前往San Simeon，游览Monterey
- 早上9点出发，到Walmart购买食品。
- 中午抵达Monterey，参观水族馆，Monterey附近，17Miles。
- 下午5：30从Carmel开车前往San Simeon。半路看太阳下山，路过Big Sur已天黑。
- 夜宿San Simeon。

The Elements of Statistical Learning (2nd edition) 观点偏向统计。
这两本几乎是必看的，而且网上都有下载。
Bishop 的 这本把 graphical model 几乎重要的都cover了，搞得 Jordan 对于是否再写一本很鸡肋。不过有趣的是，Jordan 现在广为流传的 draft 起初是和 Bishop合写的。
剩下要看 reinforcement learning 的话，当然是 Rich Sutton 的书，有些老，可惜Rich 现在没心思出第二版。
要看 kernel method 的话， Shaw-Taylor & Cristianini 的比较容易看，特别有兴趣的可以看Schoelkopf & Smola，不过很多内容都过时了。Smola 在写新书。
如果对logic比较感兴趣的，Tom Michell 的书还行，俺看过又忘了，不做这领域，没发言权。

中国的9x10的棋盘是原物的可能性大很多。印度的那个明显是先简化成8x8的棋盘后，
原来的一些规则就不合适了，比如士（后）和相的走法就很难堪了，所以是做了一些尝
试来修正规则后的产物。
从起源学上说，中国周边国家象棋的走法规则变化很多，西方象棋规则很一致，说明中
国是起源地。这个逻辑和生物学上推论DNA起源地逻辑是一样的。
