A three-week old baby has died after being bitten by a dog in Sunderland.
Police received reports a baby boy had been bitten by a dog inside an
address in Falkland Road at about 04:15 BST.

The person who is doing the biting is clearly at more risk for infection
than the person being bitten. The person doing the biting may come into
contact with infected blood, which is highly infectious, as a result of the
activity. The person who is being bitten is likely to come into contact with
saliva, which is not known to transmit HIV. So the risk of transmission
through being bitten is theoretical only, and highly unlikely. |

I think whether you had your own dog makes the difference. Dogs owned by other people usually looked vicious, because in countryside or small towns, most dogs were kept as guard dogs. But if you have one in your home, it's a totally different story.
And I suspect that people from big cities tend to hate dogs. I'm from a small town and I remember most of the kids in my hometown wanted to have a puppy.

allegic reaction.
I am seriously allegic to fireant bite and just got bitten five or six
places on the feet on Saturday. It would have taken a month or longer to
cure as before, but this time, there is not much feeling of the bite -
thanks to taking Benadryl.
No need to go to the doctor unless intensive symptoms occur. |

具体每个州的规定最好是直接去看那个州具体的条文和案例。
很多州都有dog-bite status, 规定狗主人要对自家狗造成的伤害（不一定是bite）付
责任。基本来说，只要是狗对别人造成了伤害，不管主人当时是否试图阻止，都要付责
任。而受伤者也不用去举证狗主人做错了什么。
比如，明尼苏达的规定：
If a dog, without provocation, attacks or injures any person who is acting
peaceably in any place where the person may lawfully be, the owner of the
dog is liable in damages to the person so attacked or injured to the full
amount of the injury sustained.
受伤者必须证明：
