想emerge一个java jdk, 看到有blackdown-jdk 1.4.1 和 sun-jdk 1.4.1
不知道哪个好。。。
我发现我系统里居然有blackdown-jre-1.4.1，好象是openoffice给装的。。。
因为我USE="... java ..."。。。
我想系统清洁一点，如果blackdown-jdk跟sun-jdk一样好的话，我就将就blackdown吧 |

with your product.
But you can ship blackdown JDK freely with your product. |

JRE is just a lightweight java runtime engine.
If you have java, you can use it every time that require JRE.
Of course, you should beware of what java you have.
If it is kaffe,you can't use that with DB2 and you should download
a copy from blackdown or IBM. |

我现在用的平台是ipaq，linux kernel是2.4.18，java是blackdown的1.3.1
我用java sound API写一个播放声音文件的小程序，这个小程序在redhat或者windowsXP
下的JVM上跑都没有问题，可以播放声音文件(.wav)。然后我把这个程序放到ipaq上跑
结果就播放不了声音，整个程序在调用播放声音那里就停住了。我可以肯定的是，ipaq上
的声音设备是好的，因为其他非java写的播放器都可以播放声音出来。然后我就查看
dataline的情况，发现dataline的buffer很快就满了。按道理来说，我们往dataline的
buffer写数据，然后声音设备就会从buffer那里读数据，然后播放出来。
在一个mailling list上，我看到一个99年的post，一个人也抱怨有同样的问题。
后来，他发现java在播放声音的时候，实际上是在用/dev/audio来播放，而恰好
他没有对这个文件进行写操作的权限，后来他把权限给设了之后，就好了。
于是我就查看了一 |

SWT's problems are the ever-changing API and the extremely lacking
of documentation. However I believe the idea is brilliant and it's
going to be Java GUI's future.
As for Weblogic Workshop, I played with it for a bit and thought it
was quite impressive indeed. It does run on BEA's own Blackdown JVM.
Too bad it's not free, only available as part of Weblogic Platform,
and too much biased towards J2EE. |

Sun only provides Solaris and Windows version. |

PJava 3.1, on Linux.
Because a lot of manufacturers use Linux (open,
free), and they want minimum Java support (PJava).
That's why they use that version. |

download it from Sun. |
