Andrei Gavriline & Elena Kryuchkova are not active after blackpool, while
eugene and maria, riccardo and yulia did some comps. In this week's US
national, they are not going to dance, again, while the other two couple are
. only andrei did some pro-am. Strange... maybe they are considering
retirement? (i hope not。） they are older than the other two couples;

人宣布Michael/Beata得了amateur第一时，大家都很吃惊，因为有一、两年Michael/
Beata总是在amateur拿第二（第一是一对英国couple--the Cutlers）。Michael当时惊
讶得张开了大嘴，给一个摄影师抓到了。这张照片现在在一本影集里（好象是叫《The
Best Dancin in 1998》之类的名字）。 |

既然有人喜欢听，我就再讲一个跟这个有点类似的故事，也是发生在后台的比赛者休息
室。是我的一个前教练（X）亲口告诉我的：
有一年，X在看了Blackpool的professional modern (now standard)的决赛后，在后台
的比赛者休息室对John Wood说，他赢了。John Wood and Anne Lewis可能在那之前还
没赢过，所以大家不太相信他的话（我的注：他们当时挑战的是好几届的世界冠军
Stephen Hillier & Lindsey Tate）。当结果一宣布出来（第一名是最先宣布的），
John Wood高兴坏了，一把抱起X，转了好几圈。。。 |

to take place in a few hours. It turned out to be a nice one. I never heard
of the guy, who used to be a blackpool pro RS finalist and US pro finalist
but retired around 2002. Of course you always find some retired dancers
still young-looking.
The opening remarks were unexpected (i mean, unexpected from a pro dancer). "what is the similarity between dancing and the current financial market turmoil?" and the answer is "tim |

Aira to teach their standard class. Ballroom lovers should definitely go and
check out. Tomas and Aira are blackpool rising star runner up. They also
offer Latin class with Joanna Siekierska.

想当年，Slavik and Joanna这对金童玉女在20个月内从完全默默无闻一步步攀上了

步（每次比赛都比上一次的排名往前推进几名）地在国际大赛中冒出头来的时候，很多
人都在谈论他们的成功故事。每次大赛（IDSF,Blackpool,World,etc.)大家都紧紧地盯
着他们俩，为他们喝彩。我知道他们俩的时候有点晚--他们已经拿到了一、两个世界级
别的冠军了。
记得我的一位来自乌克兰（Slavik来自乌克兰）的跳舞的朋友在电话中眉飞色舞地谈论
他的同胞如何成功。我当时连这个名字都没听说过。不过过了几天，轮到我得意洋洋地
在电话里向他宣称：“我见过他们俩了，而且是在非常近的距离（同一个studio内）看
着他们俩上一位老师的课的。。。”令他大吃一惊。
故事是这样的：那天下午我和舞伴在练舞。当时那个studio里面空空荡荡的，没什么人
。因为当天在我们那个地方有一个比赛，人大概都跑到赛场去了。我们没有去，因为那
不是collegiate的比赛。然后就来了三个人，一个胖胖的老师和一对学生，开始上课。
我们早就习惯旁边有人上课的情形，一点也没在意。过了一小会儿，我们停下来喝水休
息，同时看看那边上课的人 |

but can't imagine any girl besides fierce karina who can pull him off
seems to me they are totally enjoying getting back on the floor
but they two do not match

that's how i feel. under this assumption, carmen looks the weak one in the
four (especially 1:40 to 2:00, gliding action and shoulders)

are similar. You can basically do a swing dance to a foxtrot music. And the
quickstep music and very similar to that of samba. However, I realized a
long time ago that quickstep music is the exactly the same as lindy hop
music, or at least i cannot tell the difference. |

发帖数: 8282 | 22 周六晚的TEAM MATCH象latin pro 的决赛一样有许多观众。实力强大的美国队，以绝对
优势胜出。
DVD看点：
1. 美国队的DANCE ON非常有趣，拉丁和摩登反串，引起观众的热烈反响。
2. 德国队的FRANCO赤裸上身，穿白色ballet tight，头上绑白色羽毛，一展他的芭蕾
舞。
3. 意大利队的出场式有点滑稽，四个男选手妆狗或猪，满场乱跑。
4. Mirko和Arunas还是有些较劲，看到两对擦肩而过，有点火药味，他们的真正较量还
在下周五。
5. 没有看到帅哥Christopher Howkins，翻到program的最后几页，竟然看到他退休的
广告，十分遗憾。
英国队中除了Jonathan-Hazel组其他选手都进不了决赛，大输是难免的。
跳舞比赛结束后，这四队和俄国队的男选手，周日将一起继续足球赛。 |

Video right goes to Himawari this year. They installed multiple video
cameras. I guess the DVD will be similar to Japan International, where you
will watch each couple's routine in sequence for the same dance. For a six
couple final, 1.5 minute competition video may last 9 minutes. |

...
last year i did not watch the comp at the-dancing-channel due to very busy
schedule. this year i thought i finally had time to watch - the channel lost
the right to broadcast...
so better just watch it there, right?! |

I like Slavik, I kind of feel sad for Stefano and Anna. And Slavik seems a
bit desperate to me, right now...I am quite skeptical they'll beat Michael/

BTW, Riccardo/Yulia got 1st in Jive! hehe, they're making some progress =)

版上有许多朋友都计划往黑池舞蹈节，不管是比赛还是参观，早做计划，有备无患。偶
有点经验与大家分享。
1.行--飞Manchester或London都行，然后乘火车到BLACKPOOL NORTH，从MANCHESTER要
一个小时，LONDON要5-6个小时。MANCHESTER机场有火车站，每小时都有车，往返不到
20磅。到了黑池后，就很方便了，住得不远，用走的就行。
2.住--黑池舞蹈节在WINTER GARDEN,周围B&B上百家，一般在20-30磅，google一下，很
容易找到，订房要早，先订后改也行。要住好的，有几家酒店在附近，RUSKY和
IMPERIAL住的人挺多的，价位80磅以上。许多B&B是没有上网的，问清楚在订。不常上
网，可去PUBLIC LIBRARY用电脑。
3.衣--黑池舞蹈节在五月底，气温10-20度，常常下雨，雨伞必备。带一件厚点儿的外
套很重要，晚上可能挺冷的。
4.食--中餐馆至少有4家，意大利餐较多，快餐店也有很多，KFC和MCDONALD就在WINTER |

After only a short few months together Angelo Madonia and Edita Daniute spli
t up. Angelo and Edita represented Lithuania and one of their recent results
was the 4th place at the WDC World Series Professional Standard competition
at the German Open. Back in May, they won the Professional Rising Star Ball
room in Blackpool. See more results.
Edita plans to concentrate on her family first and then teaching and judging
