Some additions for lesser known parks:
- Channel Island is good year long; although the best time is spring where
wild flowers bloom; but December is not bad
- Caves have same temperature year-round. Among the NPs, there are wind
caves and Carlsbad. I wouldn't go to wind caves because there is no much
else to do in the winter. But NM/TX could a good trip, including Bosque Del

Noticed them sitting on the shelf for quite a while, and getting worse each
visit. Didn't want to buy since I know they are gonna need a lot of
attention here in Zone 6, but can't tolerate seeing two fine pots of
Gardenia dying.
Just the same like you found, they are getting much better just with a
little more water.

In 2004 we planted an orange tree. When we purchased it, there was fruit on
it. Seven years later, we have had no fruit! There were a few blossoms there
last month and we were shocked! What are we doing wrong?

when you purchased it, can I assume you did not purchase it from us? (We

Orange-fleshed Varieties
Big Jim
Originated in San Diego, Calif. by Jim Neitzel. Large, roundish to
oblong fruit, 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 inches in diameter. Skin pale orange-yellow,
medium-thick, easy to peel. Flesh orange-yellow, very sweet but with some
acidity, of excellent flavor. Ripens midseason, March to April. Tree
vigorous, upright, highly productive.

发帖数: 182 | 50 I am in Zone7b, my Chrysanthemums bloomed from mid Oct to late Dec, about
two months. Of course, you can make your 2nd generation cuttings from the
original Kingsmums plants, they will bloom a few weeks late. I did move the
mums inside if there is a heavy rain or freeze, you can cut the flowers, and
make a bouquet, continue to enjoy it for a few more weeks.
It is really worth it! |
