N****f 发帖数: 25759 | 1 Well, what I posted so far just about exhausted my limited knowledge
about the Blues and the Bluesmen who are/were Mississippian natives.
I actually Googled around extensively in the misguided hope of compiling
a comprehensive list of all influential Bluesmen from Mississippi until I
finally came upon this quote: "It could very well be easier to come up
with a list of legendary Blues artists that aren't from Mississippi than to
try to list all the greats that had roots in the Magnolia State."

Blues pretty much originated from the so-called Mississippi Delta
(the region along the Mississippi River between Memphis and
Vicksburg, not to be confused with the actual river delta in
neighboring Louisiana), and the Bluesmen of early fame are so
predominantly from Mississippi that it makes my self-appointed
task in this series almost too ambitious to accomplish. It appears
that Blues is one art form that remains somewhat lagging behind
in popularity among members of this |

“I may not know much about art, but I know what I like.” 对于Blues
更是如此。对古典音乐、民间音乐,因为追“饭”多年,还有几分道道而言;
Hip-hop,
To check out the Blues scale, go to:

Blues
成分,但还是以Blue Grass为主——another musically form that has
been rubbing off on me in recent years. |

Yoyo

N****f 发帖数: 25759 | 36 When you talk about Howlin' Wolf, it's impossible not to
mention his long-time professional rival, Muddy Waters
(McKinley Morganfield, 1915-1983). Deeply rooted in the
Delta Blues tradition, he is nevertheless best remembered
today as "the Father of Chicago Blues," which is distinguished
from the pure acoustic sounds of Delta Blues by its electrical
enhancement on the instruments. To get a sense of Muddy
Waters' far-reaching musical influence, one needs only to
look at the Rolling Stone magazi |

N****f 发帖数: 25759 | 40 Now we are getting to the Blues royalties. Any story of the Blues
will have to start with Robert Johnson (1911-1938), "King of the
Delta Blues," and the main character in the well-known crossroads
legend featured in the VOA program (see Andyzzdlee's original
post). He was dead, allegedly from poisoning, at the age of 27,
and one can only imagine what else he could have accomplished
in a legendary musical career had he lived to a ripe old age as so
many of the other famed Blues musicians did.

N****f 发帖数: 25759 | 49 One simply cannot talk about the Blues without dedicating a large
part of the story to B.B. King (b. 1925), the undisputed reigning
King of the Blues, and arguably the most exciting Blues guitarist
ever. A few quick chords on his beloved electric guitar—which he
calls Lucille—are all one needs to identify the unique, unmistakable
B.B. King sound. At the age of 85, he is still going pretty strong.
At the concert I went to last year, he came out on stage around
