of Linux, you'd better to learn how to spot problems (driver, package
missing ...) from the sys logs and then install the missing components or
fix wrong config files. No one can help you if you just described it as: "I
installed it, then it crashed ..." |

for my network assignment. hehe
but now 2 problems exist,
1. sound card doesn't work
2. pcmcia network card doesn't start to work at bootup
for 1 I know, I need to recompile the kernel, add 1 or 2 lines
into the kernel, my sound card is YAMAHA OPLSA3x, can any
friend tell me which 2 lines I need to add in the kernel conf file?
I have read the manual, and tried 5 times, but each time, after boot
up using new kernel, at maing DEV step, not |

create a separate /boot partition, install GRUB to that partition and make

I am in great need of helps. I accidentally disabled the video card on my
machine and was forced to reboot my computer. Now, the system seems to be
able to run but all I am getting is a black screen. I mean, I could see the
bootup process
hang on the mup.sys step and then couldn't proceed any more.
Is there any advice to fix this without reinstall the whole system?
