从表面上看，这只是一个普通、破旧的浴室。四周密布的管道，没有莲蓬头的喷管，无
一不向人们诉说着它那理工科特有的阳刚。但是就这样一个浴室，却有着让人无法解开
的迷，这个迷，到底是什么呢？

画面开始：几个精壮的汉子，小心翼翼地调试着两个金属阀门。奇怪的是，他们都采取
的是同一种姿势，这是一种极其古怪的姿势，让人看不出他们是在洗澡，反而会联想到
是在点燃一个引线极短的炸药包。每一条胳膊像被什么东西抓住似的，伸展到一个不可
思议的长度，身体却向着相反的方向，仿佛在竭力逃避着什么。
过了好久，他们还是保持着这个姿势，不由得让人想起二战里最勇敢最敬业的工兵。水

舍友小三生日，有一MM送了盆文竹作礼物。小三是热爱生命的人，自是喜出望外，
欢天喜地地接受恶劣。从此日日灌溉，夜夜巡视。太阳出来了，搬出去日光浴，又不
能晒得太久，得惦记着收回来。说是不能只浇根部，叶子也需要滋润滋润，特意买了
个喷雾器，日喷三次，文竹的叶上缀满了大大小小的水珠，阳光一照，七彩变幻，恰
似镶了无数的钻石，引得舍友们啧啧称赞。小三的得意，不在话下。从此更是悉心照
料，并亲热地给它起了个名字，叫木木。
在小三无微不至的关怀下，木木开始知恩图报，以令人瞠目结舌的速度疯长，向众人
昭示着小三的辛勤劳动。舍友们眼睁睁地看着木木一个劲地往上窜，不断地岔开新枝，铺
开一层又一层的新叶，然后是一株又一株的新杆象竹笋一样地破土而出。人们常用“如雨
后春笋”来形容事物发展之速。我发誓，那木木的生长速度绝对可以用雨后春笋来形容。
舍友们有了项新娱乐，就是每天用笔在木木身上划一道线。第二天看看它长高了多少，找

dong xinnian最近几年上升非常猛。好文章也是不断。几周前当选院士也让她成为热点。
我对她的个性并无了解。唯一记得的是几年前参加arabidopsis conference的时候排队
去食物，她就在我背后，当时她在和另外一个教授聊天。感觉她说话非常自信，甚至偶
尔有一点aggressive。但是论坛上有人说她很nice。我在网上读过她回忆她父亲的文章
，感觉她是个很纯真的人。

前年考虑布置房间的时候想起来中学时候的植物课挂图，于是在ebay上搜索，还真发现
不少19甚至18世纪的植物学书插图。那个年代的彩色印刷术还没普及，多数彩色插图都
是黑白雕版印刷(engraving)或者影写印刷(lithograph)，然后人工着色的，很有以前
生物挂图的范。买了若干张插图装框挂起来以后，觉得那些专门卖图的把人家好好一本
书里面插图一张张拆下来卖太暴殄天物了，遂开始找整本书买。整本收藏比只收几张图
有意义得多，但买了几本以后，觉得ebay上卖得好贵，搜索到几个正规拍卖行的网站，
开始盯拍卖行卖的书。自然科学类的古董书，19世纪前多数都出版自欧洲，尤其是英国
和德国，所以看的大多数是欧洲的拍卖行。从网上竞投欧洲的拍卖，算上汇率，手续费
和运费，美元的数字往往是成交价钱数字的1.5到2倍，但仍旧比ebay上... 阅读全帖 |
