1. 从技术角度, cable 公司一般用不同频段的BPF, 俗称TAP, 来阻断用户没订购的
channels. 但是无法physically 切断coax cable connection. With ISP in place,
they ahve to open up the frequencies that carry the ISP traffic, which most
of the broadcast digital channels are using.
2. 从法律角度, FCC规定cable 公司必须carry the broadcast digital channels
unencrypted, which is clear QAM. So the TV with clear QAM tuner should be
able to receive them.
跟basic TV package 想比, 每月省你20刀, only lose analog channel 2.

is hard to tell whether the teacher made the child cry or the OP's
unstable emotions made the child cry (at home) at the first place.

If you could do further, go and ask Chinese TV to find out that kid's
parents and have an interview with them. Nothing wrong to schedule an

FCC 底下有好几个单位，其中分管电视广播的是 Media Bureau。
The Media Bureau oversees broadcast radio and television, as well as cable
and satellite services on behalf of consumers. It also administers licensing
and policy matters for broadcast services.
这个媒体局是 “代表消费者监督广播电视“，而且手握执照大权，所以如果真要 ABC

air.
Major TV networks all broadcast over-the-air and have decent programs for
casual viewers, like news (both local and national), major awards (Grammy,
Oscar), TV series (Big Bang, CSI), sports (NFL, MLB, NBA, Olympics). As for
picture quality, it's supposed to be BETTER as long as you have a good
antenna and within a reasonable range of the broadcasting station, since its
signal is uncompressed.

agreements with Oympic committee, CCTV is not authorized to broadcast the
opening ceremony on channels other than CCTV1 (I was heartbroken after found
out that!!!!)
NBC won't broadcast it live.... it will be recorded and played at 6:00pm (MT)
You probably can try to get on CCTV's website. It should have the ceremony
on live. But given the traffic at that time, I wouldn't count on its quality
...
