发帖数: 2518 | 5 我的印象中是最早有MAQ，但速度很慢（好像还是和BLAST一样属于hash table-based的）
然后Bowtie使用了一种很独特的algorithm（Burrow-Wheeler algorithm?)，大大的提
高了运算速度。
然后Heng Li就把Bowtie的这个algorithm移植到了MAQ上成为了BWA
但其实上面这所有的alignment tool，当query sequence可以map到不同locations的时
候，是randomly pick up one的；纵然BWA可以设置report不同的location，其实回复
出来的信息还是很少的。尤其因为genome有很多的repetitive sequence和segmental
duplication，所以这些alignment tool报告的信息是不全面的。而貌似现在就只有一
家UW的写出mrFAST这个alignment可以report所有的locations，不晓得这里有没有人尝
试过。 |

想想一年前我连linux里的grep都不晓得是啥。老板说“grep”，我说gre。。啥？greb
吗？老板摇摇头说you really have a lot to learn...不过老板超好，想办法给我把
各种基础的东西讲清楚。。。包括RAM是啥。。汗。。。
做NGS/bioinformatics的，我觉得核心思想还是：如何利用计算机手段解决生物问题。
说起来简单但未必每个人都深刻体会的到。什么python/bash/perl啥啥的，要入门很快
，但也绝对不是什么两个星期就搞定。我现在和python打交道也一年了，但也完全就是
个皮毛，主要是你自己的project决定的。。如果你永远只需要简单的process下你的
text，而且text如果不大比如100MB，你可以永远for line in text。。或者readlines
（），但如果碰到很大的text，就不能readlines（）了因为cluster可能没有那么大的
memory to load the whole text.

到什么，所以想请教一下学建筑的，或许你们比较熟悉其它的鸟巢建筑例子。
需要灵感的话请参考以下鸟巢分类文字和图片：
鸟巢一般分六类：
Cup 杯状巢，平常见到大多数鸟巢的样子（奥运主会场取的就是这形状）
Platform 平台式，如一些大型猛禽
Scrape 在地上刨刨就好，如野鸡
Cavity 洞巢，像啄木鸟；或者"Burrow"在崖壁上的洞，像燕子
Sphere 挂着的球状编织巢，有一个开口，如织巢鸟；或者"Pendant"长柄挂起来的编
织巢，经常一群一群的一起
Mound 塚巢，爸妈在地上刨个坑埋上树叶等，把蛋生在上面再埋上完事，树叶腐烂
后产生温度自动孵小鸟，省事

米长的沫蝉，轻松弹跳一次即可越过与身体高度相当的物体。其跳跃能力远远超过了人们
以前所认为的自然界跳高冠军——跳蚤。
沫蝉分泌一种泡沫状物，用来保护自己不致于干燥及免受天敌侵害，所以又称为吹泡
虫。这种昆虫栖息在植物叶子上，分布在世界各地。但是它的存在没有引起人们的重视。

桥大学生态学马尔科姆-伯罗斯教授(Malcolm Burrows)称，沫蝉的后腿肌肉非常健壮，就
像随即待发的弹弓，可以在瞬间跳跃中爆发后腿蓄力。他在《自然》杂志中描述：就身体
长度而言，沫蝉惊人的跳跃能力超过自然界任何一种昆虫。跳跃高度超过了跳蚤，并且速

里去就行了。一两天换一次水碗里的水，偶尔给它洗洗澡（一般一个礼拜。我觉得一定
要用温水，因为如果凉水肯定它会非常冷容易冻着，不要很热，用手感觉温热很舒服就
行了），捡捡臭臭，有时候真的很臭很臭。Russian turtle是纯陆龟吧，我没什么经验
，我也希望知道应该用什么铺窝好，目前窝是用土和小块木头渣铺的，容易招很小很小
的小飞虫，但是乌龟似乎不挑。
目前我的几个观察结果： 它非常非常喜欢挖洞！！而且是挖洞的高手，就是我们常说
的burrow，它可以很轻松的在土质的地上挖个大坑。它很喜欢躲起来，一般会躲在任何
一个你给它准备的开一个洞的东西下面。我感觉它视力应该不错，如果它在洞口，你拿
个菜叶在远处晃晃，它就会马上出来。还有它在地毯上爬得很快，网上查到有人给它做
很好的窝，可惜我太笨了手工不行，也做不出那么好的窝来。 |

1. Great Horned Owl 美洲雕鸮 (长度: 24in/60cm）
北美常见猫头鹰中体形最大。真正的夜间霸主。
猎物包括鼠，兔，鸟类及各种脊椎动物。
下面的仓鸮和长耳鸮甚至一些鹰类都在它的食谱上。
2. Barn Owl 仓鸮 (长度: 16in/40cm)
算猴面鹰的一种吧（中国的猴面鹰是它的近亲草鸮）。
3. Long-eared Owl 长耳鸮 (长度: 15in/38cm)
白天休息喜欢群聚，一棵树上能有十几只。
4. Burrowing Owl 洞鸮 (长度: 9in/23cm)
生活在地上，经常合住在地松鼠的洞穴里。
5. Western Screech－Owl 西美角鸮 (长度: 8in/20cm)
