Effective August 1, 2004, all vehicles (excluding emergency vehicles) are
required to yield the right of way to buses re-entering traffic after
dropping off or picking up passengers. The law was enacted to improve safety
on the state's roadways.
The penalty for violating the right of way law is:
Fine of not less than $50 or more than $200
Up to 15 days in jail or both a fine and jail!

90% of the trains are on time; if you're lucky, buses (especially Chinese
operated buses) are on schedule half of the times.
If you don't mind waiting for 30 minutes to an hour, take the bus :-) |

However, if you try to think it deeper, why are we set our buses like
this?
If we can do "get off first", then the buses can have only one door
working like they are in America, isn't it?
So, in order to avoid this kind of problem, and given the government
knows that our ppl won't do "get off first", all the buses have separated
doors for ppl to get in/off.

pass was a good deal for foreign passport holders, but now there are not

know about Crucero-USA buses than run from Downtown LA to San Diego. And San
Diego to Los Angeles
$1 each way. Must Book 7 days in advance.
I've used these buses plenty of times. If you book through greyhound, you
still end up in these buses. I found myself talking to people who paid 20
bucks or more for the same trip, same bus. They were shocked to find out
that I only paid $1 each way.

I was very excited when China first announced the Shanghai to Beijing high-
speed line; It seemed like a great and reliable way to travel between the
two cities without having to go through all the hassles at the airport.
But after the line was launched and its speed lowered for safety reasons, I
realized that flying was still cheaper, quicker, and safer. I see why the
government needs to massively subsidize their high-speed system now.

BYD is going to open a plant in California. That should satisfy the "
building in USA" crowd.
Now if they can capture just 10% of the metro bus market in US, that should
already be 10s of thousands of buses.
I would suggest to make the battery pack on their buses easily swappable.
So when the bus needs recharging, it just swap in a fully charged battery
pack at service depot, taking 15 minutes instead of several hours. |

traffic. It's the only way to transfer from T1/2 to T3. Trains runs one way
from T3 to T2. Very annoying when you need to catch your next flight.
Nothing compares to London's Heathrow airport, though. You need to take a
regular city bus to transfer between different terminals! No shuttle buses
or trains! Only the city bus and you need to buy a ticket! My personal
