is to stanch bleeding that may occur on the run.
One of those at the memorial run wore Tarahumara-style sandals emblazoned
with True’s motto: run free. Caballo Blanco did.
Sterling Noren, a filmmaker from Seattle, shot a documentary about True and
spent three weeks with him this year. He captured Caballo Blanco and some
Tarahumara, who, as usual, ran in homemade sandals.

would reduce the mystique of the photo to the general public - they want the
cover photo to look like a lone primitive tribal runner. It's a sad
marketing gimmick. Caballo himself is upset about it, but it's not like he'd
sue the publisher.

发帖数: 1283 | 14 7/24, 中午到Aspen，还没拿到apartment钥匙，把包放办公室里，换鞋换衣服带水带墨
镜，直奔Aspen mountain而去。Aspen海拔7900 ft，Aspen山顶的ski lift海拔11,200
ft, Aspen mountain road大约5迈的土路，爬升3300尺。在城里的平路上跑起来就马上
感觉大不一样，jogging pace，呼吸象跑tempo一样。到了trail上爬坡时腿都软了，10
分钟之内乳酸堆积就非常厉害，在15％的坡上只能走，走走又跑，跑跑又走，心想这么
陡的破，下来就要废了。爬着爬着发现头顶上的ski lift正在运转，心想太好了，到了
顶上可以乘ski lift下去。爬了一个多小时终于到顶，心想这可能是爬坡最狠的一次了
，虽然只有5迈已经觉得可以call it a day。ski lift的工作人员说, "you hiked up,
you earned it!" 原来乘lift下去是免费的，爽！
6.6 mi/1:37:47, avg pace 14:49.

about to begin. At around the 20 mile mark, we will reach sugarloaf pass
which is over 11,000ft. The actual climb was a lot easier that what I
anticipated. The dirt road was mostly smooth and not technical. It was
practically flat by the mountain running standard. I couldn't understand why
everyone around me was walking. I was thinking, if you walk here, how would

weeks before a 100-miler, and you will risk a DNF in the 100 miler. Caballo
Blanco did a 40-mile training run two weeks before Leadville this year, and
ended up with a DNF at Leadville. |

10 days. as there were itbs symptons after the day hike last Saturday, i
chose to play it safe by stop running but go swimming, cycling and climbing
instead.
this is my 1st 15 miler without break, yes had a toilet break for last one.
it was painful after 13 miles. but as murakami said 'pain is inevitable but
suffering is optional.' i listened to born to run while running. each time i
