Went for several interviews, and found out most of them were using Cacti.

and give flowers you like. I am a big cacti fan and cacti are very easy to
care for! But with two young babies, I have neglected them too much. |

低成本的，弄个cacti啥的以snmp为构架的monitor,可以看到非精确的traffic，粗略到
分钟（缺省5分钟）
如果稍微做好一点，用netflow/sflow啥的，但需要你的switch支持，我的意思是能有
比较好的performance,能scale到几秒级别的实时traffic，不过好像Cisco自6500以下
的中低端产品，出来的各种traffic一旦精确到秒级别的，都不精确了。
当然，最好的办法是建一个precision network (引入高精度的时钟）， 然后把要监控
的traffic mirroring到一个dedicated network/servers,这个成本大，不少hedge
fund, trading companies 用这个。 |
