曾经有一种印象，极光在Alaska的冬天是满天都有，抬头即可见。然而定机票前匆
匆的research才发现看见极光需要有好几个因素。要有活跃的太阳风，晴朗的夜空，合
适的地点，没有杂光污染，而且月光要弱，最好是新月。今冬太阳非常寂静，
Fairbanks气温偏高导致多云多雾。唯一欣慰的是圣诞节正好是新月，算是碰巧。无知
者无畏，本来欣欣然以为极光将是此行的大餐，经过学习后，才将这一计划放在奢望品
里，希望有惊喜，如不能遂愿，也只能下次再来。
Alaska冬天的天气是很难预测的。我得了强迫症似的不停查天气，但是总是阴天，
或者下雪，能见度不高等不妙的天气。但是每隔几小时变得很快，看来想根据天气追赶
极光也是徒劳。
我们定在Coldfoot夜宿，其实还是为极光而来。Coldfoot的纬度正好在极光带的中
心，极光会出现在头顶的夜空，而且概率最高，如果是Fairbanks则会偏向地平线一侧
。晚上导游带队去一个叫Wiseman的小村子等极光，而我们决定留在客栈里等。听导游
收从十一月十五号开始，就没见到过极光。直到两天前的晚上，才看见非常弱的极光。

chicago最难喝的应该是dunkin donuts，没有之一。
starbucks，卖的是blended，味道最中性，烘焙时间中性，咖啡豆也是中性，最接近的
口味是columbia。此店有2个我老最爱，bluelee caramel latte，（seasonal），还有
就是星杯乐了。
caribou，风格比较nice，里面几乎没有whole milk，烘焙时间较长，咖啡豆随机，口
感比较偏european style，最接近的口味是italian roast，我最爱是medium regular
coffe，和white cocolate mocha。店里最好的就是比较有人情味，里面每一个店员我
都认识，没事聊聊天，每次去小MM都要猜我order什么，哈哈。
argo tea，regular coffe和caribou一个风格，烘焙时间更长，我最爱是regular
coffe和latte。
别的我也尝过很多私人小店的，味道基本上差不太多，不比几个大牌子差。
那个intelligence有个萃取的过程挺有意思的。 |

鱼。网上搜索了一番，看Caribou 大迁徙实在是又贵又不现实，而看棕熊捕鱼，只要时
机正确，动物世界里的场景是几乎百分之百能看到的。这让我一下子有了兴趣，再加上
阿拉斯加雪山冰川的诱惑，于是呼朋唤友，不辞辛苦去看熊！

anything under $.40 cents a k-cup was good deal so figured I'd post.

加拿大一项科学研究成果日前披露，通过对远古北美驯鹿（caribou）的遗骨的研究发现，可以由此考察到加拿大北部火山活动与地质变化。
这项研究主要由西门菲沙大学著名生物学家库恩（Tyler Kuhn）主持，其科研队伍包括加拿大、美国和英国的科学家。正是通过上述研究，科学家们发现在育空地区（the Yukon），一百万年前有过火山喷发，导致加拿大西北部冰雪大规模融化，从而影响到了北美驯鹿的数量分布，而且这个影响一直延续到现在。
在育空与阿拉斯加交界处，科学家们对邱吉尔山（Mount Churchill）进行了探索，发现有30厘米厚的积灰岩一直铺陈到卑诗省、西北地区和阿尔伯塔省境内。结果发现，一千年以前的北美驯鹿遗骨，与本地北美驯鹿的骨头是不相匹配的，这说明随着环境地理的变化，北美驯鹿有过历史性的大迁徙，这在古生物学界，应该算是个有震撼力的发现。

首先要群居，一般4个人一群，熊就不会攻击。在任何情况下见了熊，都不能转身跑，

白领女每天早上最爱举着个Starbucks瞎转. MN有好多是Caribou. 最怕在路上碰见公司

3M原来叫Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company，二战前是在DULUTH的一个很
小的公司挖铁矿，做TAPE什么的。二战开始了，美国需要大量的钢铁和砂轮儿这些东西
。MN有很多露天铁矿，你现在去北边IRON RANGE，有好多可漂亮的＂湖＂，其实是挖矿
废弃的矿坑。不少公司就发财了。Medtronic也是二战结束后成立的，那几个家伙是为
美军生产、修理医疗器械发家的。
二战结束了，这些公司有了很多钱，或者买或者自己开发，搞出些东西，一下子冒出来

更别提杂货店那些小杂牌儿了，lavazza味道不错，品尝正品咖啡还是要有好的咖啡机
和当季的豆子，其实跟喝茶道理一样，你喝得种类越多，越能快速鉴别味道的优劣，再
说每个人口味不一样，很难一概而论味道好坏。
我个人比较喜欢口感柔和细腻带微甜的夏威夷金牌kona，bluemountain,Sumatra
Mandbeling，Magnum，Lavazza Gold Selection，以上品牌来回换着喝了7-8年都不觉
得腻。很难接受口感又苦又酸瑟的口味。 |
