Interview 1: 学校T
这个学校有phd program，所以我把它当作是research school。当时面试机会来得很快
，让我措手不及。走之前一天才做好slides，准备也不够充分，更要命的是，这是我这
一辈子第一个面试，所以彻底的惶恐紧张……
面试那天的安排真是让我觉得--情何以堪，情何以堪啊！回到hotel的时候是绝绝对对的
身心俱损，因为这一天我从早上7:15开始到晚饭为止，马不停蹄地见了17个老师，本科
生和研究生代表，外加dean，每个meeting20分钟，中间还穿插着跟系主任的N次重复面
谈。我面试前一天一晚上基本上没怎么睡着，心想我以前也熬过通宵，一个晚上不睡应
该没啥大问题，结果事实打了我一个响亮的耳光……
上午的面试我感觉很不错，我惴惴不安地坐在会议室里等老师进来，结果进来的几个老
师都非常友好，让我大为意外。他们基本上一直在跟我说funding,funding,fuding，告

后自己可能开展的研究课题或工作。我实在是不知道该怎末下手，我的背景是以前做过
神经元甘氨酸受体通道的电生理研究，后来做过GABAA受体还有protocadherin蛋白的研
究，但我对老年痴呆之类的一点概念都没有，现在上网查也只能了解各大概，也没找到
老年痴呆和我熟悉的GABAA受体或是protocadherin之间有关系的相关文献，有没有高人
指点一下该怎末入手设计这个面试课题啊，万分感谢。
补充一下，先前通email他们好像对我的电生理研究背景比较感兴趣，另外我熟悉的实
验技术包括细胞培养，免疫荧光，western blot，基因克隆等。还有我查了一下，他们
研究所有人做β-Site APP Cleaving Protein 1 (BACE1)和CutA Divalent Cation
Tolerance Homolog (E. coli) (CUTA)的研究，还有人做AD小鼠模型。

如果他脑子里面有这根筋，那么他完全可以这么出牌。
07年毕业之前就开始准备好上NIW的package，因为他在西北博士毕业直接留下来给老板
做博后，所以什么找工作之类的时间精力完全省下来，那么OPT一下来马上就可以递NIW.
假设他跟他老板关系还不错，他老板也不是那种变态华人教授的话，他递了NIW就可以
努力搞publication+cation+review和其他evidence，那么07-09两年之内，至少可以上
Eb1B了。
然后他期间可以跟老板好好求一下，看看有没有给他办EB1b，有机会就直接上了，没机
会就再熬一年，三年博后上Eb1A。
无论EB1A还是EB1B，都是可以用NIW的Package的，几乎就是稍微改改就上了。
三年之后，他拿着一张绿卡和博后期间攒的各种条件：publication和reviewer经历回
国找，是不是要硬气一些？ |
