I take back roads, 9W saves a lot of gas-miles.
GS is way too far. forget it.
Even PP takes a big chunk of wasted real estate, but since you are not
familiar with the area. DO take exit 13, PP South.
The next trick, is at the very end of PP.
Stay on PP after exit 1, when the next big fork comes up, take the LEFT.
(the right branch is to GW bridge, BAD idea)
then you end up on local for 3 lights. go straight, fear not.
after the third light, stay right, take 46.

traffic is usually not bad, if you plan to cross TZB around 11. |

(1) Stay on PP after exit 1, when the next big fork comes up, take the LEFT.
(2) NEXT exit, turn onto 67 south
(3) turn left at traffic light onto Bridge PLAZA N
(4) Bear right, and enter NJ Turnpike (I95 South)
This is a bad alternative? |

BUT
the EXIT 16 branch has a FAST PASSTHROUGH Fast lane (the kind you have on
TZB, going into Tarrytown)
and it has no traffic going into the city (via Lincoln tunnel)
it can save you, on average, 2 - 5 minutes, sometimes a LOT more.
