Sinking of the ROKS Cheonan Korean naval vessel in the Yellow Sea of Pacific

It was a devastating fact that the Korean navy ship ‘ROKS Cheonan’ sinking
in the East China Sea around 9.22PM 26th March 2010. Cheonan was a Korean
Navy Pohang Class corvette ship. It sank near Baengnyeong Island in the
Yellow Sea. At the time of its sinking, the ship was in South Korean waters,

said the Blue House spokesman, but it was not accepted until Thursday
because of the Cheonan aftermath and other military-related issues. The
Cheonan sinking sparked a public uproar, with many stating that it should

military, which is much more high-tech.

SEOUL, South Korea – South Korean authorities stepped up searches for 46
sailors still missing Saturday, hours after a naval ship sank near a
disputed sea border with North Korea.
Navy and coast guard vessels, as well as air force planes, were searching
the waters near South Korea's Baeknyeong Island where the 1,200-ton Cheonan

BEIJING — China and Japan have agreed to start direct trading of their
currencies, officials announced during a visit here by Japan’s prime
minister, Yoshihiko Noda.
