clerkship in US but he comes from an Australian medical school. You may ask
him for details. Some IMGs come to the States for observerships. This will
also be helpful for the match. |

chihpengc, you are right that there is no any point to count the number of
IVs or Rejections for individual applicant. Our IV/Rej list here is only for
our applicants to communicate with each other as for the program
information and what to expect. More importantly, combined each one's
background, this list may be very useful for future applicants to have a
rough idea. But we should never tur |

发帖数: 1334 | 9 Chihpengc attends a medical school in Australia, and did some clinical rotations/research in US.
Not aware of any big jump in pathology for AMGs. Looks like CMGs fight each other, because there are too many qualified candidates here. :)
For AMGs, there are increased interests in Aneths, EM, primary care, Derm, plastic, and surgery. Decreased number of AMG applicants for Rads, but it's still very very tough to match. This is based on limited information and too early to tell for sure. |

IV,我就可以静等rejection了，呵呵。
Anyway,今天刚刚在芝加哥面试完，十分疲劳，不过感觉这个program还是很吸引人的，
而且感觉自己connected here,没有意外的话可能会排在我的rank list的第一个。当然人
家能不能看上我就另说了。PD说我还在他们面试的早期，一切还要等到12月下旬以后才
能有个大概判断。具体的等我明天发完感谢信，后两周再完成另两个重要面试后再谈谈
体会。By the way,见了Dr. Kumar, 他特意告诉我我的visa要求不是问题，他说他特别
叮嘱PD们不能因为所谓visa的原因失去人才，而且他自己是IMG,他理解这方面的问题，
当时让我感动的一塌糊涂，差点说就冲这一点我也死活要来你们这里了，呵呵（因为这
个方面的问题今年受的打击太多了）。也祝后面要面试的同学们好运。 |

发帖数: 410 | 20 Homing, chihpengc建议的Residence INN有free shuttle service到texas medical
center, 可能从早上开始，每小时一班，应该10分钟内就到,你只需要给driver 1－2
dollar 的小费。走路不推荐，都是公路和车，看起来不远走起来够受。
但是，我至今还没收到baylor具体的面试安排。baylor的主校区和MD Anderson挨着，
但是附属的临床机构包括一个children hospital, 一个county hospital,一个VA, 在
medical center旁边的main street上还有一个Baylor Clinic.这几个地方都不在一起
，虽然不远，但要走路也需要很长时间。所以要先弄清楚起码早上报道的地方，然后可
以让shuttle 停到那里。 |

自从N多年周游美国后觉得自己玩够了，当时没有绿卡，不能周游世界。告诉所有的朋
友们偶要开始考版拉，居然买了KAPLAN, 偶这个N多年没有看过一本书，一篇文献的睡
猫要开始考试了。结果没看几个月，居然怀上宝宝了, 偶一直不喜欢小孩，所以想当然
觉得自己不可能怀孕。一怀孕母性就出来了，一头扎进宝宝版，整天研究宝宝要买什么
，并继续偶的旅游事业，研究到哪儿玩，这不是LAST CHANCE了嘛。KAPLAN都上灰拉。
后来宝宝出生，也是光ENJOY宝宝，没有看书，直到2008年参加了老刀会，开始慢慢上
心，但是有一答没一答。2009年初LD工作换到外州，偶不得不QUIT轻松舒服的美好工作
，举家搬迁，从大房大院搬到东部公寓。没工作了，朋友说，你现在没有借口拉，只能
看书了。后来就是每天8小时的辛苦看书，上午3小时，下午4-5小时，晚上是不看滴。
UW, NBME. 偶记得当时写过非常STUPID的考经，抱怨自己题目难，其实就是基础不扎实
。现在想来STEP1是偶最最痛苦的经历，虽然考的不好，却花费了大量精力，视力都下
降了不少。后来看CK都觉得幸福，那些知识点比STEP1要有趣多... 阅读全帖 |
