it free of algae. Save me chlorine that way.
The pump is 3/4 HP, 2.5 hours per day. I need some

is the easiest way to maintain chlorine level in a pool. I've never had any

我的是每3-4周shock一次，平常用chlorine feeder放tablet。一般维持chlorine含量
，一个星期平均消耗1-1.5个tab。池子是16x32，大概21000gal。一个月shock用$6-$9
，tablet就几块钱。水质一直挺好，今年还从来没有出现algea
我现在两个星期才测一次，每次就测chlorine就够了，ph一直非常稳定，都不用测。
没有别的办法，只有不断filter，不断backwash，把里面的固体过滤出来。
另外，你可以买algeacide，比shock更长期有效 |

据我观察，chlorine bleach 对哮喘患者就是天灾啊
中国许多地方的空气质量一直都不是太好，但哮喘也没美国这么严重
我猜chlorine bleach 一定是个原因之一。
90年代一些文献里还有专门讲这个的
尽量远离chlorine bleach
但在美国比较难。
但自己还是可以控制
比如laundry detergent，dish detergent，尽量选那些不含cholrine bleach的，尽量
不要用那些什么强酸强碱的洗涤剂。
家里最怕有蟑螂，霉菌什么的
蟑螂让哮喘愈发严重
哮喘患者怕是不能garderning了，:( |

俺今年改换成盐水池以后快三个月了，都没有再shock过一次。淡水池的时候shock的多。
你如果自己维护的话，一定要用好一点儿的测试kit。试纸大都很不准。俺用的是那个
Taylor K-2006. 很好用。你如果换的话，建议买他家大瓶的，好像是K-2006C。俺现在
的大瓶试剂都放不进那个小盒。
泳池管理的方法五花八门，你一定要坚持一种最有效的，不好换来换去。要不池子里的
化学成分太复杂，很难管好。俺都不用那些所谓的clarifier。

其次是chemical，盐水池因为在循环水的同时通过电解产生free chlorine, 需要添加
的chlorine 相对少些。

you are, this removes particles and dead algae from water)
since you can see yellow/green stuff in the wall, you need to shock (with
high concentraion of chlorine) the pool to kill living algae

consider bleach is only 6%. I have use a store buy one
get one free for 15% chlorine. Turn out to be a better deal. |

人用和经常添加。

我最明智的举动就是换了个电动可以编程的 timer, 然后省了很多电。
因为我发现不需要一直跑 pump. 每小时跑 10 mins 对我的 pool 就足够
了。关键是要把水和 chlorine 混均匀，长期日照把表面的 chlorine
都消耗掉，水不动的话容易长 algae. |

You don't have to run 24 hours a day. I run mine total 2 hours
a days, 10 min each, spread into full day.
You need pump to filter and remove algae also mixing the water.
Add liquid chlorine depends on your CYA level.
There is only one thing hard about DIY pool maintain, just need
to figure out the chlorine and CYA level relationship. The rest
is very easy. It is the most worthwhile DIY things you can do.

还有，我家pool至少20年了，filter很旧，

今天才搞清楚open pool要了我335刀，加
药75刀，过几天来vacumm打扫要85刀，
总共500。到网上查说一般open只需要150
刀，看样子被宰了。pool才600多sqft。
我在麻州，一年用不了几个月pool，看样子

Once you have pool start to turn green, you have to
use a lot more chlorine to bring it down. It is call

先不要用你的大药片先。
搞清楚你的 CYA 是多少。如果 CYA > 40 就不要用药片了。
直接用液体 chlorine.
CYA 30 左右就可以了。
然后根据你的 CYA level 看你的 shock level 是多少。
先调整 CYA. 然后 pH. 然后 chlorine. |

without stabilizer, it won't last for a few days, or even one big sunny day
(chlorine decomposes quickly under the sun light).
you should get a box of pool shock (safe-to-use "bleach") and algaecide from
a nearby pool company. The shock is typically $4-5 a gal, algaecide is
about $20 for 32 oz.
First, get the leaves out with a net, then add in these chemicals. Then
cover the pool with a pool cover or a tar to prevent sun light. In cold
weather (<50F), this can keep water clean for 4-6 months.

Clorine bleach is corrosive and that fact is stated on the product label (
not to mention the exposure hazards of dioxins). Yet the properties of
chlorine bleach prevent it from “soaking into” wood-based building

for winter. In hot places when pool water is seldom drained, CYA level gets
high easily with chlorine tablets.
Yes the tablets are much easier to use than other forms of chlorine.
You can find exact numbers on the web, but roughly, for each tablet,
depending on whether it's Di-xxx or Tri-xxx form of CYA, about 40%- 50% of
the tablet is CYA.

加太多东西，有一个网络计算器http://www.troublefreepool.com/calc.html，一般只要加：
- liquid chlorine (12.5%) for Free Chlorine (FC)
- trichlor (3" tab) for FC and CYA (conditioner)
- baking soda and aerate to raise pH a bit only if water is acidic
- algaecide
我也才是第一次，两三个星期前才开的池。目前第一目标是保证all works nicely. 这
样的话，以后出问题才好比较是哪儿不对。下面开始会升级泵、过滤器、和如何下药以
达到花钱最少。
开池前的水很绿很脏，记得有一个ID回我的贴说是绝不会下那样的水游泳的。shock过
三次了，又加了3" tab trichlor, 和algaecide,现在8尺水下的main drain看得清清楚

owning a pool is nothing to be afraid of. it is just like owning a new
machine in your house (a car, a snow blower, a mower etc). all you need to
do is to read a little bit about it. once you know how it works, you will
have more time to enjoy it and less time to work on it.
my suggestion, let a pool company do the first closing or opening. it costs
about 200-300 per opening/closing, but you will have chance to ask them all

Also, pool water need to be balanced, PH, stabilizer, hardness and
Alkalinity need to be maintained at optimal level in order for chlorine to
be most effective
这么严重还是换水算了，去homedepot租submerged pump，管子直接接到sewer里面
重新放水，加药，balance and keep the pump running long enough.

了，前几天测了，CYA已经快100ppm了（开池的时候CYA是45ppm)，昨天放水补了新的水
，降到50ppm是没希望了，只希望能回到80ppm以下。今年关池还会放更多的水，明年不
会有问题。
再：测的时候，取水样要有一定深度，好像越深越高，具体还没时间去研究。
俺已经决定改盐水池了，order了pentair IC40和power center，和chlorine pucks说
拜拜了。 |

ok, here are my closing procedures. I live in MA, I close my poor mostly at
the end of Sep, although it could be sooner. My procedures apply to my in-
ground vinyl liner pool. I assume other types of pools are similar.
IMPORTANT: pool repairs are expensive! you have to be very careful, don't
rush, if you don't understand the steps, don't do it. you may ruin your pool
permanently!

1. add 4 gal shock and 16 oz algeacide, and circulate
